it would have to be. the -40 was the only DC-10 variant powered by P&W JT-9D engines, and JAL and Northwest Orient were the only customers for it.

That's absolutely amazing! Ya know, you've really inspired me to try learning this rendering stuff you do. I don't know much about it but it looks like it would be an amazing feeling to know you created something that awesome! I may have to start figuring it out...always open to new forms of making art

I shall have to check it out next time I'm able. Funds are a little tight at the moment, due to having a leg injury and being unable to work at all. But it looks like an interesting program and I still definitely want to give this artform a try. Might be coming to you for help a few times though if that's ok

omg I hope you get well soon you can try Vue 7 Pioneer Beta (free stuff but with some restrctions
; still good for learning imo) ...or search Google for Vue 6 or Vue 7 Infinite or xStream; you'll find many "free" sources

Yeah I've looked around in various places and mostly found Vue 6, looks like nobody has "provided" Vue 7 yet. Trust me I know how to get free stuff lol, I just wasn't going to be the first to mention it
And thanks for the get-well wishes, much appreciated!

Lol, second Vue scene to show up in my watchlist within the past 10 minutes looks nice, I think the shadows on the plane get kinda dark at the very front. But nice colours and atmosphere

Oh well, if GR fails - you can always add a weaker directional light, but make it so it only influences the plane and nothing else in the scene, to fake the look of reflected light. For a scene like this, it would be coloured a desaturated pink/purple colour and put fairly opposite to the Sun...I don't expect anyone to re-render a scene for something so small, but it's an idea fr next time
