The image above is a collection of screenshots of the 044 Digital Artistry website I am currently in the process of developing. Props to Jesar for the style, we just wanted a simple way to show off without giving our website completely away -=]. Be sure to check out Jesar.The site is coded entirely in PHP, XHTML, and Flash Actionscript. then obviously, you cannot read. By template, i meant the design and layout of your site. Your site is black, grey, and three-columned, as is ours, and you have the audacity to accuse us of copying you? With all the sites out now, how can you sit there and arrogantly accuse us of copying you. Yes you were here before us and many other groups, but it does not mean you have a copyright on the use of black, grey, and three-columned templates.
I admire your work a lot, and what you have done for the art community, and forever will <3 dC but i think you guys are letting it go to your head if you think people are just copying your site.

Abstract art groups are a fairly specific kind of website, and when the "figurehead" has utilised one kind of format for nigh on three years, I think it is a fair call to say that any subsequent sites that spring up years later have been heavily influenced to the point of imitation if they choose to use that template as well. You should be able to put that together for yourself. It's the same if another art-site came up that even used deviantarts green, much less its format - people would make the same observation, and be completely justified in expressing their opinion, which is all I am attempting to do.
I'll thank you kindly to stop being a name-calling little bitch as well. Don't think that because you tack compliments on to the end of insults like 'audacious' and 'arrogant' that i'll think you're being mature or level headed - you're being a coward and hiding your true convictions behind feigned politeness. I'm a dual-major creative writing student in university, you'll have to take my word that I am more than capable of reading and understanding your words. I also understand I just called you a bitch, and thats a conviction I'll back to the hilt.
Let's break this down a little.
In my opinion, in terms of abstract art sites, it is fair to say that anyone who uses a black/grey three columned site with exactly the same content sections as our site (which had them before any other) can be fairly accussed of imitation of depthcore.
If you disagree, thats fine, but kindly keep your impertinent tongue to yourself. I don't think this is really worthy of any more discussion personally, but I'm sure you'll disagree.

This further proves your arrogance. I was not hiding my true convictions by complimenting you, yet you are so sure of yourself, that you proceed to tell me what i did. Don't think that your college education or age gives you the ability to see through everything someone says. I was not complimenting you to try to persuade you to change your opinions, I wanted to show you that I wasn't against you, but rather just against what you were saying. Yet, you think you know me better than I know myself. If you think you are able to do this, you aren't anything but arrogant. I'm also relieved that you called me a bitch because i disagreed with your opinions. That is a sign of maturity that our society lacks oh so much.

It is obvious that if any site uses a similar layout to the 'archytpical' site of its genre, it will be labelled as an imitation.
Stop trying to be intelligent and realise the blatant truth.

First of all, I agree that your site is the "archtypical" site of the genre, but with all the sites coming out now, it is hard for one not to have similarities in look and layout to it. Also, it is much easier to have the 3-column layout for such a site, which is why we are using it as well. However, while I agree in this regard, i completely disagree with the way most of the depthcore people are reacting, yourself included. We should not be looked down upon because our site resembles yours; rather we are just another group coexisting in the art community and wish to show what we can do.
Second of all, I would really appreciate if you would refrain from insulting or questioning my intelligence, because that is not needed here. I won't say I am smarter than you, because I know I'm not; you have a college education, and I have not yet graduated. Should I be looked down on for this? Certainly not. You seem to act like you know me so well, and that because of your supreme knowledge of my language that you can change the meaning of my words to make me look like a fool.
Thirdly, your "bitch" comment was uncalledfor, and hardly appropriate for a staff member to make. I was not trying to "call you names", but because of your stance on the issue, and how you seemed to only focus on our site, and gives us a bad name based on that, rather than looking deeper, I called you arrogant. Whether you are or not is beside the point; it is how I thought you were at the time, and if you cannot admit that your actions and words were not respectful, then I will hold that opinion of you.
Forthly, as stated above, it would be appreciated if you could focus on our group as a whole rather than looking down on us for having a similar site to you. Obviously this will be tough because there is definite tension between us, but rather than insulting us or praising us, simply keeping indifferent on the issue would solve the problem. It is like Alphakx, your coworker, said:

To me, and this is purely my opinion, so do not interpret it to me saying it is fact, this is the best way to go about such an issue. Perhaps in the future we can be more openminded to other groups who are not trying to steal your thunder, but rather provide a home for a different variety of artists in the community. I would love to move on from this with your respect, as you will still have mine. Note: again, this is not sucking up, or changing my opinions about you. I have always looked up to you and your site, as stated before, and that does not change because you do not give approval of our art group. It certainly causes me to question whether I agree with you or not, but it takes a lot for me to change my opinion of someone completely.

Look man, all I said is that the site looks like a dc clone, and it does.
I've seen hundreds of these groups come and go.
Imagine if YOU had made something, and you'd seen it copied literally dozens of times in various formats.
You'd get sick of it after a while.
Now imagine that a member of one of these groups calls you audacious and arrogant for saying that his site (which is quite similar) is a copy.
You'd let him know that he's being a name-calling little bitch, wouldnt you?

Well first of all, we did not copy you. It has similarities, yes, but it is nothing like a "clone". I can imagine your frustration with people trying to copy you, but then, if they are trying to copy you, then they won't have much success anyways, so it really shouldn't bother you. All we have is the same colors and partially the same layout. That is hardly copying. Influenced? yes. Keep also in mind that this was one person designing it, stormz, not any of us, so when we post a preview of our site, have it bashed, have our originality and talents questioned, and made fun of, WE get sick of it after a while.
