Born in mid Soviet union, middle child of her family, Samantha lived during her childhood in a forgotten rural village in Russia. She grew up with her young sister Lena, an older brother named Aleksey and their father, Yaroslav. They weren't in a good position at all since they suffered like anyone at that time the dissolution of the URRS and it's consequences, but they were a very loving and normal family, even for the Slavic standard at that time.

Her father worked as a miner in his youth but due to an accident he ended up disabled, forcing him to live from a very poor pension. This in turn forced his children to have to work from a very young age since this financial aid wasn't enough. Sam's older brother started to work as a miner just like his father, and her and her little sister got the chance to work with his father selling the very little things they could grow, even flowers, in special occasions, this was her love awakening for gardening and botany since it's literally the embodiment of hope and grow to her.

Sam's childhood was interrupted when she was 14 years old, since that was her age when a human trafficking network kidnapped her. They sold her to the US and since then she never heard from her family again. Her key to survival was disociating from reality and her captive friends as well, Daphne and Rosie, somehow helped her during all those years.

She was really close to death when a fresh, new PD captain that called himself Liu offered his help. She surely didn't trust him completely thanks to her experiences, but she definitely never expected to end up being coerced by this police man to be a bait for possible clients so the big, scary man that he has as his brother could kidnap them, murder and cut them to pieces to sell every single part of them. Her body might be safe finally, but her mind is constantly on the edge.
