Twilight and Sunset are my waifus too (and when I create a ponysona, I would appreciate artwork of him with either of them), so I don't really want to sound like I'm defending Flash, but I have to point out what Tv Tropes has to say:
"A Zigzagged Trope with Flash Sentry. He's considered The Scrappy by many hardcore fans simply as a "Waifu Thief ", often depicted as a cruel Jerkass or even an abusive boyfriend to Twilight and/or Sunset Shimmer, despite Flash being depicted as a genuinely Nice Guy in the canon Equestria Girls movies and shorts who only gets angry one time in Rainbow Rocks (and he was brainwashed when it happened). However, there are just as many fanfics and artworks that treat him quite sympathetically as an honorable Royal Guard who genuinely loves Twilight/Sunset, partially as a backlash against said hardcore fans and their vicious over-the-top Demonization of him - both Twilight/Flash and Sunset/Flash are popular fandom ships."
