Cats and water don't mix well. I guess poor Shadow was carrying Blue on his shoulders to the other end of the stream, but she slipped off, and... well, this happened.
This is an extremely belated birthday gift for my good friend (I'm late as usual...sigh). Hunter was one of my first inspirations when I joined Deviantart, and if you don't know her already, you should totally check her page! She has a comic going on, and her characters are absolutely adorable!

Ah, feline incompatibility with water.Β This is so comical, and I love the way it looks straight up like a professional illustration from a book; it has an almost antique look about it, I'm guessing it's a combination of the colour scheme and the fine ink details.Β LOVE it
And might I just add, I suddenly have a lot more respect for the amount of work you manage to produce since I started university myself; you are a legend!Β

It's not that he's inherently afraid of it, but he's so vain that the ego shattering experience of being seen drenched (we all know cats look like aliens when they're wet XD) would consequently probably kill him.Β On the other hand, he's much too proud to ever allow anyone to carry him, sooo that could lead to some interesting dilemmas

I love their expressions, they fit so well for the situation! They both looks somewhat horrified, in different ways and for different reasons! Also.. Those scratches look really painful.. poor Shadow D: it is a bit hard for him to save her here with all those claws on him! One Would have thought he had leaned from the last time not to bring Blue close to water! Also from their poses it actually seems like the scenario you explained would be plausible to have happened here

I speak from personal experience that no matter the circumstances, when carrying a cat, you should wear some padded clothing or at least a leather jacket.
