Description And this is basically why humans keep invading the Herimash lands but never even tried to wage war against the Sa'jiir.

Herimash (cats) and Sa'jiir (lizards) are two of the non-human sentient species in my fantasy setting (Dwarves are the third one), in case you are not familiar with them. I made this mini-comic many months ago, but forgot about it until recently, and then completed it few days ago.Β  Hope you like it!

This race of cats appear to be Amazon basin native Americans, while the dinosaur guy is an Arab. Is it intensional , if so why?

question: under what circumstances is a sword effective when bent at a 45 degree angle?

Swords that are angled forwards have a suprisingly strong piercing damage while also delivering devestating cuts. If you look to a real life example the Dacian Falx, a two handed sword with a forward angled blade, could cleave through roman shields(scutum), and with a fatal blow to the head it could pierce a helmet all the way into the skull.

I like the detail you have put into making the different peoples' costumes and armour distinct, and the design of the Herimash' sword is cool. Makes one think of either a kopis, kukri, or shotel.Β

I'm not sure Yoda knew what he was talking about when he said that... when your opponent is 7 1/2 feet tall and their sword's are about the size of your LEG you should probably ovoid conflict with them as best as possible.

Hehe. In my universe, my small species, which is about three feet tall, rides 250 pound predators. They also have numbers, and once they reach the space age, they've got the quickest reflexes, making them the best pilots. This has led to the smallest species being considered one of the most terrifying to fight.

hahaha ooooh I LOVE this mini comic so much! I don't know how many times I've looked this page up just to look at this drawing again the expressions and point of this comic is just SO spot on that I can't help to chuckle after reading it again even now^^
I think adding reptiles to your world was a great idea, especially now that you've flushed them out enough that only a idiot would think they are argonians I personally love how huge they are compared to the human soldiers, making them defently look like dinosaurs come to life
Sa'jiir is also such a fantastic exotic name to give them. how on earth did you think of that?

but yea anyhow, fantastic mini comic, I just love this one to death

Don't fret, little cat! Remember, the shorter you are, the easier it will be to cut your opponent's balls off! *takes a look at the humans' armor* Okay, not such a good idea. I guess using guerilla tactics with quick, hit-and-run attacks and disappearing in the thick of forests would be their best choice then. Β

Can't think up of many ways for the humans to counter Sa'jiir's strength and knowledge of the territory other than destroying their sources of water and fertile areas, but that would be destroying the very resources that the humans need themselves. Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0laffson In reply to AstarGoldenwing [2017-03-07 17:24:14 +0000 UTC]

hahaha indeed, and even despite the armor a club strike there would hurt!

They are indeed very dangerous when they are within their forests, in order to deal with them humans would have to somehow surprise them (if they don't expect any hostility)or trap them in an area where they can't run anywhere. Using dogs is also a good idea.
The best and safest way is to simply burn down the forests they hide in, after all most of the times humans simply want more fertile land, so the forests would have to be burnt and cut down in any case.

Interesting enough, Medieval people burned their woods all the time for good reasons.
They would isolate areas and burn them, causing plants to be fed from their own ashes and give sprouts.
So sprouts are little and delicious, and who likes that? Rabbits and deer. Game.
Hunt the deer! Hunt the rabbits!
