yes I remember when they used to have a dog. And of course, children did not steal cereal from him. My best bet is that they changed him into a wolf because they wanted children to steal food from the poor guy. However, if the character was a dog, that's plain wrong. Consequently turning the character into one of the well known predator, a wolf.
