Heyo! I lock my line-art layer with "Preserve Opacity" and then colour it ! You could also make a layer on top of it and use "Clipping Group" or "Layer Mask" to make a mask, and colour that.
(This only works though if your line-art layer is transparent/not on the background layer, except the line-art ofc.)

I guess I meant how do you choose the color you use for the lineart?
When I play around with colored lines, I tend to loose detail or it will blend to well with the color of the object.
Do you choose the same color as the object at a lower opacity?
Or do you choose a slightly different hue?
I was just curious because your lines always look so nice.

Ah In that way, well, I usually just go for the same colour but darker after shading (or lighter at points where highlights would be/some reflexion would loo good.) I usually play around with it a bit though, until I feel it looks good
