Description This stage makeup tutorial is originally made for my dance group, performing a Chinese court dance in the Tang Dynasty.

The steps are, as you say, very self explanatory.Β  But , if you would allow me a little professional critique?Β  I think that the make-up, model, and cropping of the photographs are well done, but what does not work for me is the lighting, and depth of field (Focus).

The lighting is too yellow, perhaps from incandescent or fluorescent light bulbs?Β  In addition, I think that the focus is too soft for a commercial make-up photo shoot.Β  Try more direct sunlight, brighter flash, or a whiter light, and keep your f-stop as small (1.2-4.0) as you can, use a tripod because even the smallest vibrations affect focus, and use the timer on your camera to avoid hand vibrations.

Additional Tip:Β  Compare your lighting and focus to a commercial magazine.

Um...this tutorial is hardly a professional magazine thing...and I'm totally amateur at photography, can't even afford a Canon EOS, so too bad don't have the material and skills to put together something pro.
