The eye is symbolic of awareness, conciousness, and she is taking refuge behind this pretence. If the eyelid closes, she'll fall down- mirroring that if she retreats from this pretence even for a moment, she will be too blind and rejecting of reality to get back. That concept was my intention as I was making it, but I suppose it isn't evident enough. I suppose that makes it a more personal, I guess. A piece intended for the maker's emotional catharsis, shall we say. *shrug*

wow! thats very deep and symbolic, i saw it as in "eyes are the windows of the soul" to show that her refuge is within herself... like she is trapped inside her soul... maybe its meaning is like different to each person, as in how the picture makes them feel or what it means to them... but i still love it
