The Rat Tribe appeared out of nowhere, it seemed, as the Great War came to an end and the tribes drew their battle lines on the border between the Blackwoods and Whitewoods. Calling themselves the Truthtellers, they quickly lived up to the expectations that such a name brought, having the uncanny ability to provide an answer to any question a tribal warrior could ever have thought of.
The Lupiqua and Feliqua, who had long prided themselves on killing and devouring any other animal to enter their territory, soon found that it was incredibly unwise to so much as attempt to harm any rat. Any attempt on a Truthteller’s life and they soon found that the other tribe had mysteriously gained knowledge about their secrets—the weaknesses in their guard, the places they buried food—and mercilessly exploited them.
It is unknown how they organize themselves, if they rank themselves or care about social status at all. They stay hidden for the most part, only revealing themselves to tell their secrets to those selected to listen, and always with an ulterior motive. They speak as if they are all one unit, preferring to use ‘we’ more than any other pronoun when referring to themselves. They act like it too, even to the point that if one rat anywhere realizes something, all other rats in the two forests seem to instantly know it as well…
All the warriors of the tribes know is that these rats know everything, and that if a rat ever were to show their face in front of any one of them them, it would be in their best interest to shut their mouth and listen to what they have to say.
