Description
Hello! This is my first theme for Gnome-shell.
'Nord' is the French word for "north".
Buy me a cup of coffee ☕️: ko-fi.com/redalazri
- Initial GNOME 3.4 support.
- GNOME 3.6 support.
- Fixed for GNOME 3.8.
- Completely redesigned: Featuring nicer widgets and reworked dialogs. Should impress.
- Corrected many regrassions from 1.6.
- Changed font to Liberation Sans.
IMPORTANT:
There is a bug preventing extensions from getting fixed using user-themes:
- If you want an extension supported, ask.
- If you want the already-supported extensions' styles to take effect you will need to manually comment out their styles in /.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/xxxxxx/stylesheet.css. Otherwise it's broken.
- If you're still on 3.4 or 3.6 DO NOT update. I don't have an old version.
One last thing, If you like to take this effort and build on it, please do but give me credit by linking back to my page. Thank you!
License:
You also need Liberations Sans.

I love it, I'd just love a full integration with GDM and dark top bar to be perfect

Long awaited update. Thanks.
What's the property I should look for in gnome-shell.css in order to obscure the background a bit when I run the alt+f2 "run dialogue"? I want it and also the message tray to dim the rest of the screen, just as the application switcher.

Great theme! Thank you.
Just two things need to be pointed out:
* boxes that enclose text looks too small (in fact, text overlaps with box borders): see [link]
* I would use a nicer font (i.e. Cantarell or Google Droid Sans), as Liberation Sans looks a bit "flat" and "boring". But that's up to your aesthetical taste...

Thanks!
Where is that box from? I don't have it.
As for the font, it used to use Droid Sans and I've changed it. You can use it if you modify the font-family line at the beginning of the gnome-shell.CSS line.

It's a box that encloses the name of the current window when Alt-Tab-ing with the "Coverflow Alt-Tab" extension installed: [link]
As for the font, thanks for your suggestion.

Unfortunately, gnome shell gives priority to extensions' stylesheets, so there is no way of fixing it with users modifying files manually. I'll try to provide a fix, but you need to apply it yourself.

Hey, I've looked into the issue. Unfortunately, the author doesn't specify a class I can use. There is one but it doesn't seem to affect the size or the padding. There is really nothing I can do, it's up to the author to let me change it from the theme. If you have time please ask him about it.

I'm in Fedora 19 and I don't seem to be able to get this theme working. Is anyone else using this in Fedora 19?

I am using this theme in Fedora 19 and it is working fine.
I just had to copy the "Nord" directory (which is inside the downloadable ZIP file) into "/usr/share/themes", then apply the theme through Gnome Tweak Tool.

To work in Gnome-Shell don't you need a GTK theme?

I guess he means a different GTK theme than the one provided by default.

Looks gorgeous. I miss those Gaia themes with the subtle glass borders + white(ish) surfaces - wonder what happened to that whole movement?

This is a great theme for GS. The only thing missing right now is support for 3.8+ versions... We would love you forever if you'll update it.
Nevertheless, continue to stay awesome man!

Hey, question for you. Is it normal if my overview background is black without transparency, I tried to edit your css and I can change the color of this background, but the opacity has no effect... So I want to know if my computer is the problem.....
I love this theme!
