Description
Dragon Ball Z x Full Metal Alchemist.Artificial humans 16, 17 and 18.
--------
I was thinking about the androids from Dragon Ball Z, and how they aren't all actually androids. 17 and 18 are cyborgs, and (apparently) a more correct translation for their Japanese name would be 'artificial humans' rather than 'androids'. (Makes sense)
Full metal alchemist also features a number of 'artificial humans', the humunculi, and indeed a fair few 'cyborgs' (all the people fitted with automail limbs).
With such fitting parallels I couldn't help back make a crossover piece :-P
So here it is:
16 as a suit of armour like Alphonse, (Sixteenphonse?
17 with automail like Edward's,
and 18 with automail like Paninya's.
It all fits so nicely
(in fact, the whole android/cell arc could fit quite well in full metal alchemist style. It would be pretty cool)
This scene was basically made to parallel the scene where 17 and piccolo fight on the island.
And yes, screw having the right number of sleeves or socks, automail is cooler
(maybe 17's sleeve got torn off at the same time that his left leg got the shoe and pants ripped off them.
As for 18's sock... it was transmuted it into the rock she's sitting on. See, there's an in-story explanation for everything!)

you messed up the cause play by ed's arm. it's supposed to be his right not his left

What makes you think it was meant to be the same arm as Edward?
Automail 'style' was meant to be the same, but in truth the automail itself (as with '16phonse's armour) is slightly different. I considered making all their arms and legs automail(or having their other arm up to the elbow), but that would end up making them look like robots XD
Either way, my idea was 17 and 18 being mirrored,
18: right arm, right leg, left leg up to the knee
17: left arm, left leg, right leg up to the knee
Blood seal for 16 would be in his helmet too, instead of his collar like alphonse has. (so that the gohan vs cell equivalent scene could still have 16's head thrown and deliver it's speech before being crushed).

The Android/Cell arc would be so much better if they DID have metal arms/legs like in FMA!
But 16 creeps me out a little with his new Alphonse-esque look now xD
Though it does fit him more, since Gero said he was a "failure" and never wanted him reactivated in the first place. Plus he was only meant to kill. Or at least kill Goku.
Wonder why Gero even made these androids like this in the first place? I mean, I know he 17 and 18 used to be real humans that were turned into androids, but 20 was a fat piece of lard with a voice that sounds like Elmo's.

Haha, yeah.
I feel that 16 being a suit of armour matches him in a number of ways.
16 was a giant, so him being a big suit of armour is fitting. He was also fully robotic, so being a suit of armour matches with him having no organic body parts, makes him seem more artificial.
And, as you said, he was a prototype, made different from the other androids. Making him a living suit of armour matches how he's different, very strong and can take huge injuries(well, damage) and still work.
(16 having his head blown open/ his whole body destroyed by cell and still being alive
>Alphonse having his head shot off / his body destroyed by scar and still being alive.
It fits so well )
As for why gero made them like that in the first place. (btw, 19 is the fat white one, 20 was gero)
Well, maybe he needed to make him fat to fit in the parts XD
Also, he only had the elmo voice in the original funimation dub or whatever. (I thought it was great ridiculous, but still great)
I heard they took the filter off when they remastered it, so he doesn't sound like that. He probably sounds different in the original japnese and stuff too.(can't find a youtube vid to compare or anything through :/)

lol, 19's voice was awesome, and I watched the remastered dub alreaday, it's still...not bad
His voice in Kai makes him sound more like a robot though, and since I watched that dub first I used to think he was a chic xD
FMA and DBZ should crossover in a movie soon, I heard Kai was going to crossover with One Piece a while ago

I like FMA, I love DBZ. I like Ed and Al. I like Android 16. I don't like Android 18. And I absolutely detest, despise, and hate Android 17. Android 17 is my least favorite character in DBZ due to his betrayal of Gero.

Haha, well Gero does come over as a bit of a tyrant though. I doubt you'd want to be kidnapped and imprisoned for your life by a man whose only interested in treating you like his slave and science project.
Still, I can see how it was a bit of a dick move XD
and yeah, one of my favourite dbz characters is 16, and Alphonse is pretty cool to. Whats not to like about a living suit of armour

I prefer villains of series to heroes by a long margin. My least favorite characters are the anti-heroes... pretty much those who betray the actual villains and become anti-heroes... which include the likes of Android 17, Vegeta, Nuova Shenron, Fat Buu, and Broly. I despise traitors in general, especially when they betray the villains.

What about villains who betray their subordinates? What do you think of them?

they aren't very cool to me either. However, I simply prefer villains who stay true to the dark side; in retrospect, anyone who doesn't commit the act of betrayal. almost all the true villains are the ones who end up getting screwed in the end.
