Description

Just got this idea whilst watching Markiplier play Alien Isolation which looks like a pretty awesome game! I thought it would be an interesting idea since Wayland-Yutani is interested in the Xeno species so why wouldn't they experiment with them in such a way? The measurements may be wrong, numbers are not my thing. XD

THE LIFE CYCLE OF A KNIGHT

The King is a species of Xenomorph created by Weyland-Yutani in an attempt to try breeding Xenos.

Stage 1: the Pawn

The Pawn begins its life by being birthed from a Queen along with its brethren in as many as 3 to 7 Pawns in a litter. The time it takes for the Pawn to grow inside the Queen can take between 3 days to a month depending on the amount of food the Queen consumes.

The Pawn takes on the appearance of a tiny pink, spindly, wrinkly drone with an oversized head with 1 soft point at the sides of its head. It has 2 pairs of arms: a larger set and a smaller set further down its chest which is connected by webbing. It also has an extremely long tail. It is about 1 foot tall.

The webbing is supposed to be for gliding but the Pawn has such a thin body in comparison to its head that is not possible till it matures more; gaining a thick hide and a larger, stronger body that can more easily support the head. Instead at that the beginning of its life the webbing encourages its smaller set of arms to move and therefore gain muscle. It can take anything between 2 days to a week for it to mature into a Knight. This species of Xenomorph is always male.

Stage 2: the Knight

The Knight is much like a Drone or a Warrior except it is harder to kill (due to its tough hide) and is slightly more intelligent. It also is more aggressive to its own kind and may end up killing others whilst trying to assert its dominance. Appearance-wise it looks like a Warrior except for a horned crest on its head and 2 pairs of arms. It is roughly 8 foot tall when standing up.

The larger arms on the top are webbed and eventually grow into wings, however it cannot fly far or for very long once it has gained its wings. Once it has developed its wings it will be more likely to use the wings for walking on all fours, leaving the arms free to lash out at prey.

The Knight requires more feeding and if it does not receive food within 48 hours it will starve to death but it is capable of eating other Xenomorphs to survive.

Stage 3: the Noble

A Noble is difficult for a Knight to mature to. It takes a full 4 months for a Knight to change into one and if it has not after the set time than it has no chance of maturing any further. Out of a litter of 7, roughly 2 have a 50/50 chance of becoming Nobles.

A Noble is a guard for the Queen and is extremely aggressive but cunning, even going as far as to set traps such as ambushes and coordinating attacks. It can also learn to use devices and by observing it can copy. The Noble can be likened to a Praetorian with a large crest on its head, a small but sharp horn grows near the mouth, the smaller set of arms become longer and stronger, the wings are much larger and more easily support the Noble during flight. Height-wise it is roughly 12 foot when standing. It tends to walk on all fours much more then 2 and uses its claws on its wings to slash at enemies, it also prefers to charge at enemies and either gore them with its horn or crush them with its crest.

It still requires large amounts of feeding and will often bully Drones in order to take their food or simply devour them.

Stage 4: the King

The King is a huge, hulking great beast that doubles the size of a Queen and if given enough time it may even triple it being between 17 and 22 foot whilst standing. It tends however to walk on all fours instead of 2.  Its body is much bulkier and more muscular than that of a Queen. A King has a large crest that breaks off and covers the sides of its neck, it has a large horn on its head, a protective plate that protects its mouth, a small set of arms, a larger set of arms, a huge pair of wings which are longer than the body (excluding its tail), a long tail and spinal spikes along its back and tail.

The King serves as the last line of defence for the Queen and as her “mate”. It does not command the Hive but it can force its will on them should the occasion demand it and is obviously respected by the Hive. A Pawn cannot have life if the King does not impregnate the Queen and the Queen births the Pawn differently from laying eggs however this process requires that she detach from her egg sack. The King is fiercely protective of its Queen but if it should encounter a Queen that it feels is “unworthy” or weak the King will kill it and then it releases pheromones to speed up the evolution of Praetorians to Queens. It is also able to prevent the evolution of Nobles to Kings with pheromones. A King, unlike its previous evolutions, can survive a few months without food but if it needs to it can force its body into a near death-like state and suspend its metabolism until prey arrives or food is brought to it.

It is known to leave the Hive and hunt by itself or with a group of Xenomorphs, using its smaller arms it will carry potential hosts back to the Hive.
