So, found my self sick for a few days and decided to enter, as I felt crafty.This is was rather fun! I've made a shadow box two years ago for a final project in my art class, so I had some knowledge. This took a good three days to make, taking breaks of course during the period. There's about 6-8 layers, I didn't count though as the hand took almost 10 layers to make it pop out of the frame.
Anyway, I just love the design! I actually owned a few rummynose tetras when I was younger, so it was a blast from the past this bean.

I tend to look at other artist and how they draw it, and then I just implemented it in. It also helped that my college application required for me to do five perspective drawings, so I've gotten my fair share of practice. ^_^

Wow this is awesome! It has so much depth! How did you make the layers pop so much? I'm gonna try to enter as well, so tips would be welcome if you wouldn't mind sparing any~ if not that's cool too

I used thick paper, mainly water colour paper, as it helps give depth without cardboard. I used the thinnest cardboard and just layered in it such a manner. If one thing was a bit more out, I would just use one piece, but if one thing needed to really pop, use more then one. It works great, I used about 8 for the hand to make it fully pop the way I did.
So, lots of layering! ^_^
