It was a clear, beautiful night in the forest. All was calm and at peace as the full

moon shone down upon the sight. A wolf who had been chasing a rabbit was wandering about,

exhausted and hungry from the run. He was a lonewolf and had left his pack for a better

life. The wolf began grumbling about his loss when he noticed a shadowed figure lying in

the moonlight. Blood soaked the ground around it and a huge wound was gouged into the

beast's side.The thing was barely alive. It twitched constantly , and it's breath was

drawn in with difficulty. The lonewolf began to approach the animal, making out the

shape of another wolf. The bloodied wolf was pitch-black, like that of a shadow, and had

huge canines sticking out from under it's lips. As he drew closer, the injured wolf

shifted his head a little and opened his eyes to see who was there. The lonewolf froze, on

the wolf's right cheek was a glowing red mark. The injured wolf mumbled something under

his breath that the lonewolf could only make out a few words. (New body? What could he be

talking about?) Suming up his courage, the wolf asked,"What happened to you?" The wounded

animal merely answered, " What does it look like? I was in a fight, but my opponent

suffured a far worse fait." He pointed his muzzle toward a stiff body lying on the ground,

chuckling to himself, "Bit into his neck. Apparently, he managed to land a nasty blow

before I got him. My name's Nightmare, by the way." He croaked before being cut off by

blood soaring in his throat. "Please," Nightmare begged, his breaths growing weaker."take

this medalian of mine. Wear it around your neck so you won't loose it. I'd like someone to

remember me, and you're the only one here." As he took the medalian from around the

wolf's neck, he replied," I'm Stardust," he said lifting the thing up to his eyes, a red

gem with a dragon wrapped aroung it. As soon as the medalion was placed around his neck, a

wave of energy surged through Stardust's body. Nightmare began to smile as the gem's light

grew brighter. Once more he was coughing up blood, his eyes fluttering closed, he

weezed, " Thank you Stardust, I'm sure we will meet again soon." With those last words,

Nightmare let out one last laugh, and lay still, the mark still glowing on his cheek.
