Description
The world of Oldsmobile. This is a hood shot of a 2nd generation Olds 88 (1954-56). I love the relief globe sculpture these things had, along with the almost-required and ever-present stylized jet on top.I think there's a bit of heartbreak and frustration to this one as well. Somewhere in the re-assembly after the paint job, somebody wasn't paying attention and got the letters mixed up. So now it's an "Odlsmobile"... There's no spell-check in the real world.

I used to just fly on a keyboard. I type the wrong way, but I could still manage to get it done quicker than most. But I've had this little notebook for a while now, and it's messed me up totally for the way I type. Fingers don't fit the keys, and going back to a regular keyboard is a mess now too. ~sigh~

Great shot. I've seen so many of GM Chevys, Buicks, Pontiacs & Cadillacs from he mid 50s but I can't recall ever seeing any Oldsmobiles from this era.

I didn't catch it at the time, but I saw it in the editing. I didn't know what to do about it and sat on the shot for a long time. Finally I decided that hey, it was there in front of my lens, so...

I just couldn't get a shot of the whole car. There were shadows from the next vehicle on one side, and the other was in darkness.
