Prologue:

I’ve always known that my family wasn’t exactly normal. Perhaps that’s an understatement. I’ve always known my family was the complete opposite of normal. But who would have thought that it would have gone this far? Is there really no hope at all anymore? Is this some sort of negative karma? Are we honestly being punished for sticking out like a soar thumb?

She rose from her chair and stalked towards my family with unnatural grace. An exited smile streaked across her flawlessly tanned skin. The greedy smile reached up and touched her cat like eyes. With unexpected hostility and blood lust, it quickly turned from a smile, to a snarl.

“I am going to kill all of you.” She purred, as if we could find comfort in that. “But I need you, darling, to go and fetch your brother for me” she said in a now louder voice shifting her inhuman eyes to me. “And don’t even think about telling anyone about our little rendezvous. I will know the second you do. Go now.” She flicked her hand at me as a command to move.

Terrified, I looked into the faces of my family. All of them destined to the exact same fate; my eventual fate, the future of my ignorant brother. They stared at me; Waiting for me to abandon them. My mom was the first to speak.

“Run.” She told me. There was more meaning behind the word. And I knew exactly what it meant.
