Description Much more practice needed, I think I need to get closer or a different angle or a bigger tank or something!!

The cloning and healing tool use on this was through the roof, sadly the formation was VERY messy, so there was tons of splash on the back drop (moving that further away next time)

Progress is being made. Slow carpet burns on knees progress!

For crying out loud try wearing knee pads! Your poor knees
Anyways you’ve improved a lot with your kit. This picture is awesome, looks like a jellyfish being impaled on a red icicle. Very nifty. The colors aren’t as bright as you normally go for but still lovely choice seeing as how it kinda moves your eye up from the dark part to the small drop on top.
I feel I should point out.....your drops pics you did before you got your kit seem more you. I dunno these are amazing and you do a fantastic job with them but they seem to be lacking in something. AND NO It's not the background or the colors. Just missing you-ness
Still even with that another awesome job and keep up the good work, you've got a lot of talent with this stuff

I feel I'm taking it too seriously. I'm gonna go back to the more "me" stuff. You're right too, I'm not sure what I'm missing here In a physical sense, but I'm not completely happy with them to be honest.

I think its time to go back to the drawing board. I need to re evaluate where these are going.

I think you are thinking to much Your other stuff was simple and so very you. These seem a lil mechanical and totally perfect (even if you dont think so). Your other stuff was not perfect but it was! I miss that about your pics
It shows you arent completely happy with them because they dont have that air to them that you are pleased.

Dont over think T, just have fun You are sooooooooooo fucking talented and soooooooooo skilled with so many things! And like you tell me "PS doesnt to your style justice" this doesnt do you justice!
I'm not trying to pick but you are so damn good just messing around! And I want to see you be all you can.

Yeah, well I'm gonna get teh syringe out again, even if it was painfully hard work using the fecker.

This is the kinda message I needed to read abotu this hole Dropletkit thing. This sums it up so much better tahn anything you've said before or since.

I'll see what I can do

Just out of curiosity: How many photos do you take in one shooting?

And: Getting better with each photo, now are we?

Currently shooting around 175 and filling my card. I'm having major issues with the lcd display on my camera, it makes so many photos look awesome, then on pc they look so..... lacking. I'm kinda going in circles with drops at the mo, I want a solid whit background and can't get it, I want the pretty reflective water, but can't get that for the full drop. Bigger tank, more lights. I'm gonna wire up another flash next time. Might go back to my pretty backgrounds too. I'm feeling out of my depth with this kit.

I think I'm taking it too seriously.

DanielHeydecke In reply to 12GSuper [2011-11-13 17:45:34 +0000 UTC]

I don't think it's an issue with the lcd-display. (well, not a technical problem anyway) Because I have similar problems. I had them with my 400d and I even have them with my 60d. It's even a bigger problem with the 60d because on the display many photos look like true hd-photos, totally sharp. But as you said: Once I see them on the big screen I'm surprised that they're not nearly as sharp as on the small screen.

I have to get back to water drops. I need to make more lightwave-stuff with the new camera, but it's still two weeks until I get myself a new flashlight.

12GSuper In reply to DanielHeydecke [2011-11-13 17:53:26 +0000 UTC]

Nah, its the issue with me, everythign looks better smaller.

I've also turned the brightness down and adjusted some settings to get a better reflection of colours and exposure.

I'd love to see you get back to some drops dude. You're the king!

I gotta say, I have that problem with my camera. They'll look fine on the display, then be just a tiny bit out of focus when I upload them. Just enough to annoy me, and too much to fix with sharpening.

That is why I looooove autofocus, but I guess that doesn't work so well when you're focusing on such a tiny area.

Yeah I have to use manual for drops, its a pain.

Yeah I have that same issue. I took some pics up in Scotland and thought they were awesome, turned out blurred to hell

Never tried it before, but I think it will allow me to get them with a different camera angle. More straight on then from an angle...Will see.. I think about 2 inches of water is about all you need..But I've done them in less---> [link] Very shallow, that's probably why drop is such a weird shape...

12GSuper In reply to relhom [2011-11-13 23:48:39 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh I see, I did read about 2.5 inches being deep as will be needed.

I'm intrigued to see what you come up with!

Aww I like the really red one...you know the one you sent me first T^T The colors look so cool! But I can go with this one <3 I guess...for a little bit...maybe....

I do like the shape of this one more then the other one though. You need to one of those cool backgrounds going again I miss those...A LOT!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

12GSuper In reply to Alexiel-Kurai [2011-11-12 23:57:44 +0000 UTC]

I'm seriously debating the choice between the two. I liked the red but it was too pale and with a slide on the wrong slider I made it pink.

Yeah the shapes reasonable on this one. And as for cool backgrounds, yeah I will be making more with such. its just play time at the moment to try work out ideas.

I will get something shinier soon though

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Alexiel-Kurai In reply to 12GSuper [2011-11-13 00:48:59 +0000 UTC]

I'm a huge fan of color though....so I love the vibrant red that the first one had. But I can deal with this one at least the shape is cool right

Well you need to hurry up Ted...I want to see more of those pretty colors...it's getting boring over here waiting for you to post something Just sayin'

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

12GSuper In reply to Alexiel-Kurai [2011-11-13 17:38:49 +0000 UTC]

Vibrant?!

Wasn't even close! This is a shit ton more colourful than the red was.

I know, I need to "go back to my roots" As I was saying to Dan on here, I'm taking this shit too seriously, and I need to be going for pretty rather than form. Seeing as my forms are almost always the feckin' same.

I'll get there, some day... Some time... Maybe next year.
