Description
So. At first I wanted to line this but I did not feel like it so I just cleaned it up a bit and designed it. The Pygmy demon bird is a new species and I already love it to bits. Cute, tiny, loud parrot-bat thing.

Length:
Can be around 80-90 cm depending on the gender of the bird. Females are often larger than males.

Weight: 10 kg

Gender:
Very difficult to determine since both genders have colorful plumage but you can only observe their behavior to determine the gender of the bird. Comparing sizes is a thing you can do but it's not 100% accurate.

Colors:
They come in many colors, both bright and dark colors but brighter colors are more common. Red/black and blue/black are very common colors to find on a pygmy demon bird. Darker colors such as dark blue, dark grey and only black are not as common as brighter colors. Finding a white pygmy bird is very, very rare as they don't have that color in their genes which means it's either albinism or a genetic defect (mostly it's a genetic defect.) Finding white feathers on their plumage means that they are either getting old or they have a genetic defect.

Mutations & diseases:
Genetic defects: Since Pygmy demon birds don't have white feather markings or plumage like their larger cousins, the color will count as a genetic defect and doesn't happen very often. The defect is not harmful to the bird.

Albinism: If the bird has white plumage and red eyes then it's albinism and is a very rare mutation to happen in any kind of demon bird. The mutation will only affect the bird's sight, making it vurnable against predators and hurting itself when flying from tree to tree.

Melanism:It's an mutation that is not as rare as albinism and appears more often than albinism. The mutation doesn't affect the bird in any way. (Except for the heat, jesus christ it's annoying to have dark hair okay)

Diet: Omnivores; they eat anything from small critters to fruit.

Habitat: Found in the island Arwak and around forests near the Northern region. Birds from the island have blue/black plumage as the most common colors while the forests near the Northern region have red/black plumage as the common colors.

The Pygmy Demon bird is the smallest species of demon bird under it's genus. They are very talkactive and fly together in large flocks when moving to another area to find food. They are also quite mischevious as they like to throw down a nut or a fruit on a passerby. They don't have the ability of speech and are only able to mimic simple words they hear often from a person. They communicate with their own little language between each other (which are chirps and screeches) and understand a bit of their larger cousins' language. These bird are also known to befriend Northern demon birds they like or even try to court a N. Demon bird even though they are so much larger and have dark plumages. (Atla has experienced this before. The lil bird didn't stop ruffling and bringing fruit to impress him. The lil bird is the bird you see on the pic, without the white feathers. Its name is Navex )

The biggest difference between these species and the larger demon birds is that it's bipedal and uses it's wings as hands when climbing on trees. They can only fly for a short amount of time before needing to rest as they use alot of energy to lift their bodies and flap their wings. They only court once a year and can get up to 5 chicks per nest. The mother spends her time caring for the chicks while the father brings the children food. Then the mother goes to get food while the father spends his time caring for the chicks and so on. They also mate for life which means if one dies, the other has a high risk of dying from heartbreak as it affects their health really badly.
