This is the character Codename V, not Guy Fawkes. Say that the mask represents Guy Fawkes and his intention of reinstate catholicism, is like too say that the 卍(Swastika) is a Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism symbol of good luck/happiness, when is collectively understood as the symbol of Nazism.

It is a pretty curious choice of representation, though- that mask is a depictionof Guy Fawkes.
