Description
Ok , I am not a professional animator , neither worked on the original show .I am just posting this to help people to understand the basic on sketching a character .
You can see on the first image the basic lines , that gave the proportion and pose .
on the second , you add the volumes to start making it looking as the character .
And finaly you clean the lines , and add the details .
After that you still can add any other detail .
dress , gadgets, rivets , etc .
have fun .

What pencil did you use? It looks softer than a HB.

Para mim, a parte mais difΓcil (pelo menos em arte digital) Γ© a de "limpar linhas"
Eu sempre acho que as linhas nΓ£o estΓ£o limpas o suficiente, ou perderam o estilo, ou eu estou demorando demais...

WOW! this was a great way to draw. I usually just draw the final image right away, which is really hard to draw perfectly or attractive.

Huh, I always had (and still do) have trouble with the basic skeleton of a character.
I dunno, I usually don't do it, and yeah, I know its a BIG no-no. I usually do the grid for the head and face and such, but never the body. Do you have any tips for me to maybe 'lighten' the burden of it a tad bit?

do this . Pick some photos of people or animals , and draw over them the skeleton lines .
that will make you get use to find the action and proportion lines .
you can do the same to cartoons .
another good exercise is to "decompose" a chracter.
Just draw over its image the basic blocs that make their forms .
a head could be a ball or a square . an arm is a tube , etc .

Thank you for illuminating us! So we can learn more about your style
Only a question, that I always want to ask you but always forget to ask .
Is it bad when I do drawings, without starting by a skelleton? (I mean, doing only direct sketches).
I learned to draw directly and at these days, I keep on doing that, maybe it's wrong (?)

Yes , thats very wrong .
You need the basic skeleton to be sure to have a perfect proportion , action line , and to be sure that the pose is what you want to draw.

Thanks!
I'll practice with skelletons, it could be hard at the start, but I'll get used to

Style is everything. Especially drawing XJ9. Her lines are so simple, its deceptive. Fernando has done her so often in so many ways that he has unwittingly established a benchmark, so that some people think he's being unfair. He's not. If you can't draw Jenny, you really need to either take lessons, or admit that you aren't an artist. I know my own limitations. I have a small talent for art. And I know if my talent isn't up for an art jam, I won't do one, even though I could possibly be up to it. I got lucky with one Playtoon cover, and have decidedly sucked since. Does that mean I need to be mad at Fern? Of course not! I keep doodling until I have something to submit to be happy about! So I'm gonna keep missing art jam deadlines for a while.

Main ideas are pretty much in a beggining or ending sentence, (correct me if I'm wrong XDD ) hes/she's pretty much saying he/she doesn't feel up to the challenge of the art jam. I don't know about everything else he/she's babbling about. XD

I just started drawing the basic lines like in the first panel of the picture, didn't know it could be so helpful.
