Being a landlubber, it looks like ship departures from southern planetary hemispheres look upside down, (relative to the planet surface) and from the northern hemis they are right side up.Β The bigger question is how north and south hemis are determined. (Maybe some of your future renderings will show northern hemisphere departures oriented upside down Β .)

Β why are all the ships in every sifi movie acting like there's gravity in space, all facing "up"? they all seem to think if all the impstars or warbirds are not rotated in the "correct" direction that something is wrong.

i suppose that's a good point... although i'm thinking of all of the orderly and functional three dimensional formations that could be utilized to maximize the field of fire of their dorsal mounted cannon turrets...

Nothing wrong with the physics of having the planet above. It's a much more interesting perspective this way (and probably why Lucas did it in the intro to Ep. 2.) The light on the TIE fighters looks like it's coming in from the left, tho. Might want to flip them.
