The Fuzors and Mutants were always my favorite part of the "Beast Wars"! I always liked SilverBolt(Grey Wolf/Eagle) Torca(Killer Whale/Elephant) Bantor(Bengral Tiger/Baboon) Noctorro(Braham Bull/Vampire Bat) and Air Hammer(Hammerhead shark/Falcon). They were my personal favorites! I've always been fond of mythological animals and the fuzors were most likely inspired by those mythic hybrids or inspired them depending on your view point. Great pic!

Are the "few surprises" a group of mutants hiding in the lower right corner? The mutants are the most under-appreciated faction ever to grace the Transformers universe, and they are my favorite.

Awesome work. Man, just seeing this makes me want to buy Beast Wars toys again. The Fuzors were cool, I have three of them. Airhammer, Skyshadow, and Buzzclaw, or whatever his name is. Skyshadow's definately my favorite though.

Cool! Though I didn't collect much Beast Wars figure as a kid, Air Hammer became my favourite Maximal even though he was the only Maximal I got! In any case, that's a really cool pic! Long live the Fuzors!

This is some good stuff. I really like the detail you put in to getting their fur and other textures. Gives it the consistency of a nature guide pic. A really crazy one, but still.

Crazy nature guides are the best though. I feel sorry for the Fuzors though...they are like the disregarded blacksheep of the BW line. Some of them are actually really cool and don't deserve the bad rap they get.

Eeee, the Fuzors! My favorite transformers (except for the fugly Injector XD). Silverbolt is a definite favorite. Who doesn't love that Chivalristic attitude and code of honor? Not to mention a mix of two of my favorite animals! Though I would have preferred an eagle/lion mix for a gryphon, my favorite beast. ^^ They should have showed more of these guys on the show. ESPECIALLY Sky Shadow. <3

Some of the mutants are hit and miss to be honest. Razorclaw, Poison Bite and Icebird are pretty cool...though Soundwave and IB are the weakest IMO.
As for the whole Japanese things...they made Torca into a ninja there. An elephant and killer whale ninja?!

I have to say that Torca is my favorite. Silverbolt is cool and all as well...but Torca is just so badass lookin.
The guys hidden in the grass around Terragator are the Mutants.... Icebird, Razorclaw, Soundwave and Poisonbite.
Injector is overrated...but you can have mine if you want. XD

Any chance you're doing any of the coloring for DW's upcoming BW mini-series? They'd have to be crazy not to take/consider you. Hell, you can just hand them a copy of THIS pic and "Noble Savages" as your applications. (I know thats not how it really works, but still... don't know anyone who can color {let alone DRAW} the beast era chars nearly as good as you...)

Heh, thanks for the vote of confidence...but I have a feeling DW has another colorist planned for the BW series. Still, it would be downright awesome to do a page or two on the series....the remote possibility of working on a BW comic was the driving force for me to even submit to them in the first place.

If I got the chance I wouldn't complain, but if Espen does the colors and they are like, if not better than, the Summer Special...then we're in for a treat.
To be honest though, I don't know if I would want to see a comic in the style used above. It's good for a pin up, but I just don't think it would lend itself well to sequentials.
