Description
I wanted to do a new pic of my main hero in City of Heroes, but when I went to start drawing...I couldn't come up with anything. Eventually I just started doodling and came up with the actual pose above, but I was at a loss for the background.

Originally I was thinking of doing a an actual city scene below him (like two or three point perspective), but I really wasn't in the mood to go through all the work of drawing and then the city.

I asked a bud for ideas and he suggested I add a giant monster from the game to the background- his suggestion was a giant robot. I wasn't feelin' the robot idea, but I did like the monster idea. So I used a giant octopus as it could really play up the giant monster idea.
