I actually think that Sonic.exe can be a result of 2 things, one all the hatred and bad experiences that sonic has to go throught fighting against robotnick/eggman losing friends and seeing his world dominated over and over by a egomaniac make him go "crazy" and ended up like EXE, the second and more realistic scenario could be, robotnick (and you will see why very soon) always tried to make a perfect replica of sonic known as "Metal Sonic" but this metal sonic lacked something in the end, sonic will be always more powerful than metal because he is a living thing not a robot he has no limits to what he can do, so in order to make the perfect metal sonic robotnick had to do make a robotic replica but this time he had to be like the real thing, so with all the sonic's life data collected from all his battles with sonic and mixing it with his evil mind could create a evil monster that could end up with sonic once and for all, and giving him a robo-organic body that could go over the limits of a living being, but something went wrong and he did more than that. I specially think that Sonic.EXE is somewhat a spawn of Dr Ivo Robotnick more than just a mere demon, just look at the eyes of Robotnick and then the eyes of Sonic.EXE.
