Chapter 5
Like Father, like Son…

"Autobots," Starscream growled as he saw them congregating on the horizon of his newly found energon deposit, Magpie had worked hard to find it, when she told him where it was hidden, he figured it had been a mistake on her part. If only Magpie was recovering, then he would have had help brining more back, before the vein was discovered by anyone else.
Starscream stopped and landed clumsily, if the Autobots had found it, he was sure the Decepticons would be here before long, he would much rather risk confrontation with the Autobots as opposed to the Decepticons…

"You found this, Ouzel?" Arcee asked excitedly as she watched Ratchet load the energon into Bulkheads vehicle mode,
"I don't know how I did it," Ouzel said with a triumphant smile. Arcee wrapped her arms around his neck, forgetting that she was still in the company of the others,
"I think I have an idea," Ratchet couldn't help overhearing them talk, "Ouzel must be directly descended from a seeker,"
"What do you mean?" Arcee unhooked herself from Ouzel to listen,
"Well, we were created on Cybertron, by the AllSparks energy and the living metal that made up our planet," Ratchet huffed as he hauled another large shard of energon onto Bulkhead and tapped him to deliver it back to base though the ground bridge, he took a deep breath before continuing, "Ouzel here must have been a 'spark birth' this is where two Cybertronians become spark bonded, and they can then split their sparks down the line into living metal, the pure energy creates a life of its own," Ratchet approached Ouzel, "it's remarkable really," then Ratchets smile faded,
"What's wrong, Ratchet?" Arcee asked as she saw Ratchet begin gawking at Ouzels wings once again,
"What we are looking at," Ratchet sounded distracted as he spoke, "is a combination of two Cybertronians, the pure energy from both of the sparks combined into one living being," Ratchet trailed off and fixed his gaze into Ouzels optics,
"You're thinking we can identify my sire and spark-giver by my appearance?" Ouzel sounded pleased, but Ratchet had ideas of his own, and his scowl only deepened.
"Your wings, that's why I thought you had stolen them," Ratchet felt his spark begin to sink, how could he have been so foolish, it had been staring him in the face all this time but he had been too arrogant to see it,
"Stop right there, Autobots," Starscream had made the decision to approach and had his rocket launcher aimed at Ratchets back, he had cleverly waited until the larger green Autobot left, making the task of stealing back some energon seem more hopeful.
Ratchet jumped to one side and as he did so, Arcee revealed her blasters and aimed them both at Starscream, Ouzel looked at the seeker for a moment before following in union, he didn't bare any weapons, but he clenched his fists and stood in front of Arcee, protecting her,
"Back away from my energon, foolish mech, you are no match for me," Starscream spoke through gritted denta,
Ouzel didn't speak, he had nothing to say to this anonymous and hostile fighter stood before him. Meanwhile Ratchet knew all too well what he was bearing witness to, Ouzel was about to have a standoff with his own sire, something Ratchet refused to let happen.
"Ouzel, stand down, it's yours, Starscream," Ratchet had forced Arcee into the groundbridge,
"But, Ratchet,"
"No arguments," Ratchet scowled at Starscream, wondering if the former Decepticon even knew,
"No Ratchet, I found this reserve, it's ours," Ouzel clenched his fists tighter and revealed his denta, this made Starscream smirk.
How had Ratchet not seen this earlier, Ouzel was the spitting image of Starscream when he was angry…
"You found this?" Starscream sounded out a bark of laughter, "You? A barely formed mecha from the AllSparks dregs?" Starscream shook his head mockingly, "please, now I've heard everything," Starscream lowered his weapons and grabbed the last remaining exposed shard of energon, he was being watched closely by Ratchet who wasn't sure if he should speak up or not.
Ouzel hadn't softened his glare as Starscream approached him.
"I'm feeling generous," Starscream said in a tiresome voice, "if you can catch this shard before it hits the ground, the rest of this energon is yours," Starscream held out the shard at arm's length, "it shouldn't be a problem, if you truly are a seeker," Starscream narrowed his optics, waiting for a response,
"Ouzel, you don't need to do this, let's go," Ratchet knew his words were failing to tempt Ouzel into submission, the young mech, like his sire, was too stubborn.
"Go for it," Ouzel growled as he transformed, ready to chase the shard in any direction Starscream should throw it,
"Okay, here it goes," Starscream pulled his arm backwards, he paused shortly to admire Ouzels still Cybertronian alt-mode, then he threw his arm forwards, at the same time as he did so, Ouzel sped off into the distance at tremendous speed, "physically, he's not too shabby," Starscream said as he turned back to Ratchet who was glaring right back at him, "but he's also not too bright, is he?" Starscream then revealed the same shard of energon from behind his back and waved it in Ratchets face, "must be spending too much time with the Autobots that's done it," Starscream grunted as he knelt down to dig out more energon,
"Like father, like son," Ratchet whispered in a raspy voice, it had been an Earth saying he had only ever heard before, but now it made sense to him,
"Wh…" Starscream raised his head from the ground, "What did you say?" his optics narrowed again, but before he could try and decipher what was said, he saw Optimus Prime appear at the groundbride entrance, that was Starscreams cue to flee, he soared off in the same direction he had sent Ouzel in, but only he was much faster…
"Ratchet, are you okay?" Optimus asked,
Ratchet was breathless, but he was still able to reply; "Optimus, I've just made a discovery that will make even your spark skip a beat,"

As Starscream was returning to the cavern he called home, he saw something on the horizon speeding towards him, it was the young seeker again, but before Starscream could react, the other seeker transformed in flight and grabbed hold of his wings.
"What are you doing?" Starscream growled as he spun out of control.
Ouzel kicked one of Starscreams wings, causing it to clip the floor and send Starscream crashing into the sand and rubble; he transformed and landed on his back with a groan. Ouzel used this opportunity to lunge himself onto Starscream and pin him down, leaning his face closer so they were only inches apart,
"Nobody tries to fool me," Ouzel growled, "you will do well to remember that should I ever see you again," his optics were locked in a scowl and his voice was raspy, the wrath currently built up in his spark was practically over whelming, it even made Starscream tremble.
"You have no idea who you're dealing with," Starscream growled back,
"Impress me," Ouzel spat as he dug his talons deeper into Starscreams armour,
"My name is Starscream, no doubt you've heard of me, I was quite famous on Cybertron," Starscream bragged with a smug grin on his face,
"Yeah well," Ouzel separated himself from Starscream, "I'm not from Cybertron, so whoever you were doesn't mean a damn thing to me, right now, you're scrap and that's all you'll ever be," Ouzel was feeling triumphant, despite being tricked earlier, he felt he had made amends with his pride and flew off abruptly.
Once he had left, Starscream analysed the damage done, he had every mind to chase after the mech and teach him a lesson about who commander Starscream had once been, but even he knew those days were over, he didn't care anymore. Then he remembered; everything that ever mattered to him was waiting for him back in his cavern, this was who he was now; he was a completed spark and would never find himself alone again…

"What took you so long?" Magpie whispered as she heard Starscream sneak into the cave and lay beside her,
"Long story," Starscream replied, feeling defeated, "speaking of long stories, there's something I've always wanted to ask you, but I never had the chance,"
Magpie rolled over so she could face him, her spark still fluttered each time she looked into his deep red optics when they were framed with his soft features with a gentle expression.
"Well now seems like a good time," she leaned over and kissed him softly on the lips,
Starscream exhaled before speaking again, "when we were on Cybertron, you always passed on every opportunity that would make you successful, weather it was virtuous or wrong, why?"
"Because success is forever, Starscream, you need to find out where you belong in this universe before you plan on what you're leaving behind,"
Starscream thought about what she had just said, "I have a plan, Magpie," his expression showed that he was nervous, Magpie could hear even his voice shaking against his hushed tone, "remember when I promised you that we could rule Cybertron, you and I, I know how to make that happen, I just need…" Starscream was silenced by Magpie pushing a digit to his lips,
"Shh, Starscream, haven't you realised yet, we don't need anything else,"
"But my legacy, our memory, what will we be leaving behind?"
"Starscream, I need to tell you where I have been all these eons,"
"You have been travelling here, to me, haven't you?"
"There's more to it,"
Starscream then stared in disbelief, "tell me everything…"
"First," Magpie then shoved him to the floor by his shoulders, "I think we need to catch up on old times," she then narrowed her optics and added a seductive smile to her features, something she knew Starscream couldn't resist.
"Have you recovered?" Starscream asked, he had been wanting this since her arrival, whenever the two of them bonded it was like time stopped, but he didn't want to hurt her,
"Thanks to you, I'm feeling much better," Magpie then clasped her mouth around Starscreams and gripped hold of his shoulders,
"Primus," Starscream said in a hushed tone, as he shuffled awkwardly against the kiss, all evidence was showing that Magpie possibly wanted this more than he did.
Magpie felt Starscreams heat against her own spark chamber, the irresistible urge to be bonded with him once again was matched only by her lust, in a hurried attempt to speed things up she allowed her servos to trace down his spark chamber and she began tugging between each kiss,
"My love," Starscream purred against her audio receiver, "we have nothing but time," with this he rolled over and forced Magpie to the floor, so now he was lying over her, with one leg on either side of her waist while he rested his servos against her chest.
Magpie sighed in both defeat and the feeling of tranquillity, she removed her servos from his arms and relaxed them at her sides and she allowed Starscream to lead her. First Starscream smiled lustfully at her as he leaned forward, pressing their spark chambers together, feeling the heat of one another wash through their bodies and arouse their appetites for contact.

Starscream moved his head to one side, allowing Magpie to tease the wires around his neck, he sighed peacefully,
"Why me?" he whispered, opening his optics as Magpie stopped what she was doing and broke away, with his arms still wrapped carefully around her shoulders,
"Starscream?"
"We are two completely different sparks now Magpie, time has changed us and I believe it's too late to go back to the way things were…"
"Don't say that!" Magpie shook her head and her optics began to glisten with tears, "it's not too late! It's never too late," Magpie then jumped up and desperately planted her lips against his, causing Starscream to throw his arms back from the shock, gripping his servos into the caves rocky wall.

"Magpie," Starscream gasped between breaths,
"Shh," she whispered, stroking a talon against his lips, "it's never too late," she shook her head slowly and bit her lip before pulling him close for an embrace.
Starscream stroked her helm reassuringly and kissed her on the forehead, unsure of what to say. There were only so many times that he could act and pretend like they didn't have different paths in life, the only thing that joined them together, was the spark bond.
Magpie however was all too aware that their sparks were joined by another means, in another living being, the spark bond the two of them shared on Cybertron had resulted in a miracle. Their sparkling, whom she had named Ouzel…
Magpie could never forget the day Ouzel had been spark-granted, but she was worried at how Starscream would take the news of knowing he was a sire to a mech that was lost somewhere in space…
