Please excuse my....not-knowingness....but I'm not familiar with using ink in art, are there different types of ink (Like different types of pencils)? Or are the pens you use different?

Yes, there are many different types of ink, and different ways of using it...brush, nibs, office pens, markers, manga pens, regular pens, all kinds.
I tend to use a lot of sharpie markers, black india ink, and fountain pens (which involve dipping a pen nib into a fount of ink.) The pens used for this were sharpie markers and manga pens.
