Description
My half of an art trade with (here's what he did for me -- fav.me/dbonqbr ). This guy is his character Andre, the Mercian wolf from his Homeward Bound series.I referenced pics of Reynard or Diablo (from the Wolf Pack) to help with figuring out how to approach a male Mobian wolf.

Thanks, dude (I'm going to try to reply to your note this week, BTW)! I still definitely draw, it's just that other stuff gets in the way, as does the whole process of cleaning up the images takes too long (I'm thinking about no longer doing that for most of my stuff).

Hey there, this came out really well!
It's great to see your take on Andrè, one does tend to take one's own design for granted after a while, so it's always refreshing to see someone else experiment with it.
Your style is more of a mix between cartoony and more naturalistic elements, and that's kinda what I was trying to go for when I originally designed Andrè: have him look like he could enhabit the same
world as the others, but at the same time make him stand out by making him taller and by giving him some more naturalistic proportions.
Also I see you've decided to go for the four-fingered design, which makes it more unique (I've always found the Sonic comics to be a mess when it comes to choosing between four or five fingers,
so I've just stuck with five).
All in all this is a very good piece, thanks again for doing it for me!

I agree with that.
I think you succeeded there! It gives him the impression of being older then most of the main guys are, plus he's a wolf, so I'd expect him to be bigger then most of the small/medium-sized animals (which is actually how the Wolf Pack was designed in the old comics).
Yep. Canon can't seem to agree on how many fingers these guys are supposed to have, weirdly enough.

As for the fingers, I didn't know that was your approach, and now that I do, I really like it! Very clever, much more than what canon could ever come up with,
and I don't think I've ever noticed it done anywhere else.

Yeah, I just like that some of the male characters at least were allowed to come in different sizes and shapes way back then.
Thanks! It just seemed like these easiest route to go with (and hey, any excuse to read up on animals, lol). Hooves are a little trickier. I like how Zootopia handled them for the most part though.
