I really like the style and power of the BAR, but I still wanted to improve upon it with Thompson SMG parts.. some other parts from an M-60 and so forth.Related content

sweet jesus, if we gave this to our boys in nam they would have them running scared...but, while it does have the basic look of the BAR, it would feel more like a light, clip feed, machine gun.
My Grandpas brother served in WW2 and was given the BAR. he like the weapon, said it could still work in a modern fire fight, but would complain that it would almost kick so much, if not controlled well, it could blow a man over.

I have an idea for a dieselpunk sci-fi where the U.S. Army is armed with an assault rifle based on the BAR don't worry I'm not going to steal this exact design, but it could help with the inspiration, thanks for posting this.

You know I really like this design so far. Looks a bit like something Stoner would have made, but I think you've improved upon the overall BAR style. Better pistol grip instead of the traditional rifle grip, bigger magazine capacity, muzzle brake, and the stock that is more inline with the barrel. It'd be great if something like this was made back in the day.

Only a few hundred were made so it's not surprising you didn't know about it. I didn't know about this until after I made the model a few years ago.. then found this video months later. I had to go digging in my bookmarks to find it.
