Actually, Hitler tried to persuade his designers to build a battleship mounting the railway guns weapon, but the designers rejected the idea, since, ya know, it would take up a MASSIVE amount of resources

There were a few variants of the 'H' class. H-44 was the largest and most powerful. But it was designed just to appease Hitler. There was never any intention of building it.
