Have mercy babyI'm descending again
Open your eyes
This time it's sink or it's swim
No sermons on ascending
No verdict on deceit
No selfish memorandum
No confusion for me

It will come back to you Paul you just cant push it. All that will achieve is more frustration. Im just glad to see youre back with us. Was beginning to worry when we hadnt heard or seen you since your holiday.

he he, i was never really that far away, work has just gone cray at he moment and trying to find the time to do anything other than work is, well, almost impossible!
You're right about the frustration, but i also think it to do with sliding down a bank and landing in a river a 6.30am on an autumn morning trying to get the right angle, being soaked didn't help!

very very nice shoot !
long exposure is just perfect here for the "smooth" effect
i'm a little bit disturbed about the horizon not being horizontal but nevermind as the overall shoot is just excellent

yaeh, me too! i'm not sure why it's at an angle. The other shots i took looked straighter, but i wasn't happy with them - if i straighten the horizon the rest just looks plain weird
Glad you like it!

Thanks man! 3 x ND8's and some water logged wellington boots! This was actually one of the last shots of the day, more interest in the clouds than earlier shots

That's a lot of ND filtering there. I need to invest in some more NDs.
This is a great shot

Have you looked at *DenisOlivier he uses Hoya ND filters. Maybe it's his pp work but his shots are just so sharp. maybe worth looking at those. I'm thinking about it, my new lens has a 77mm filter ring, so i need to start again
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AndyMumford In reply to 2-m [2006-12-01 15:19:16 +0000 UTC]
Yup, mine is a 77mm as well. I've got a extra wide angle Cokin holder, which MAY fit...but I won't know until I get the Nikon :-/
I'm definitely going to get a Hoya polarizer and IR..but my other lens will be 66 and I don't want to go with 2 sets of filters..it will just get silly. I'd like to stick with Cokin as much as possible really. Just for carrying convenience and money. If I need to get 2 Hoya NDs in two differnet sizes, it's not going to be convenient at all.
btw The lens arrived yesterday and the build quality is breathtaking...really heavy metal and solid feeling

I hear ya! my camera has just doubled in weight with the new lens makes me look like a sideways hunchback when i'm wearing it under my jacket
I think i'll stick with the 55mm filter adapter for now, see how it goes. I was looking at a shot from ~LondonExpress earlier, he got a 3 minute exposure in mid afternoon with hoya filters!!!!! now that is dense!

...I know, and it's not just the camera and lens anymore.
Last night I went over to my girlfriends for the night and wanted to do some nightshots on the way...So I've got my overnight bag with a change of clothes and stuff, added to my camera, my tripod, filters, filter attatchments....It weighed a tonne. And this is my old camera with a fixed lens. When I'm using the Nikon and carrying 2 lenses (the 10-20 is really heavy), with filters and all my stuff then my camera bag is going to be totally full. If I want to take anything else with me...it's like going away for the weekend...

LOL! i know exactly what you mean... then you have to get everything out, set the tripod up, choose the lens, attach the camera, focus, add the filters...... i ended up getting the Lowepro Slingshot - really well designed and thought out. Apart from the compartment at the top, i can't fit much food in there!

AndyMumford In reply to 2-m [2006-12-06 00:17:35 +0000 UTC]
Hey, we have exactly the same camera bags. I've got that Lowepro Slingshot as well (the 100). At the moment it fits everything in fine in the main compartment. In the bigger section I've got a filter wallet, my camera in the middle part of course, and in the smaller section I've got a fisheye adapter, and stuff like the lens hood.
When I get the Nikon I'm going to have to re-arrange it cos there'll be the two lenses. Still, the lenses will actually be shorter than my current 828 (which is very long and reaches all the way across the bag) so I'll have some space infront of the camera as well.
SO the front pocket is great for me wallet and stufff, and the top compartment I can manage to squeeze a fair bit of fruit in...But that's about it.
You're right though, it's a great bag. I didn't discover the rain-cover until about a month after I'd bought it...and later still I realised that there was a hole I could stuff the unused side strap in. Great bag.

ooo... this is getting spooky now!... where did you get your filter wallet from? i've beenlooking for ages for something to put them in.
There's way too many options with the lowepro bags - absolutely amazing!

AndyMumford In reply to 2-m [2006-12-06 12:33:44 +0000 UTC]
Ah the filter wallet is great. I saw them on the Cokin website originally and got one from ebay [link]
I actually got mine from a seller called loobylin, who are great. I got a couple of quite hard to find filters from them as well.
The wallet is great. It's about the size of a CD case, only a lot deeper and you can fit around 7 or 8 filters in there..plus the adaptor rings, and it's really sturdy and protects the filters really well. It fits really snugly in the larger of the two compartments in the Lowepro bag, leaving the smaller compartment for a lens. It's also got a strap which I use to hang it off the bottom of my tripod while I'm shooting.
Now, I really sound like a nerd
But I do recommend them, they are great.

Yup, you do sound like a nerd, but then again, aren't we all? i know i am
I got my ND8's from loobylin, Linda is actually about 15 miles away from me, first class seller. I'll go check it out now
Cheers
