The background I found easy and simple to do (I don't know how you will find it). Is just black to start off, used the paint spay tool in different colours to give the hazy effect and to add colour (space isn't all black). Finish off with the marker adding many white dots in different sizes for stars. Also used the paint spay tool in this one for the darker shading for the Pokemon.

Thanks for explaining Steph, I'll try what you suggested for the background, see how I find it. I don't think I will try the spray tool on the PokΓ©mon for shading just yet though, I'm not confident enough in my abilities with that tool just yet, lol.
