Every now and again we'll be faced with a challenge so surreal and unexpected. These situations always present a challenge for us. This was absolutely the case with Ms. Nettie, who inquired about a potential temporary treatment to really sell her Halloween party. Ms. Nettie had been sending emails back and forth with Ms. Belle, who in turn took her idea to Dr. Grey. Ms. Belle is getting better at understanding just what is and what isn't capable of the laboratory, and with this one, it was like nothing she'd seen before. Ms. Belle explained to Dr. Grey that Ms. Nettie was looking to be transformed into a ghost. It posed an interesting challenge. Dr. Penny was brought in as well, and the three started planning how such a treatment would work. Ultimately, we can't change someone's DNA to make them a ghost, but we could potentially alter their body to give a specific appearance.

It took a long while for us to come up with a solution. It involved mixing some previous treatments, as well as some new ones. For example, we used some of the techniques used in our Genie treatment to create a similar tail-like appendage to replace the legs. We drew heavily on the DNA from deep sea fish, utilising elements of translucent skin and bioluminescence. Still, once Dr. Grey and Dr. Penny were happy with what they had, they invited Ms. Nettie in and steadily and carefully implemented the treatment. It took a while for it all to come together, a few hours in our laboratory. Our more refined treatments can usually be completed within around thirty minutes. But, despite that, I think the results are rather impressive! Ms. Nettie makes a charming ghost! Because this is a new treatment, we'll keep her here for a few days to make sure everything is OK. I expect this could be something we can deliver on a mass scale for next years Halloween!
