Such gorgeous work! You and I must be the last 2 artists on the planet who still use Fractal Explorer on a regular basis! After so many stuggles with other more labor-intensive types of software, I keep coming right back round to FE like an old faithful friend...a program that is so dead easy and relaxing to use.

Thanks Krystal. I believe there are still a few of us on dA that use FE, and I agree with you - it is such an easy program to use.
I actually contacted Arthur in 2009 to see if there were any plans to work on it further. Sadly there is no plan and probably won't be.

Yes, maybe he could have invented a way to use layers in FE, think what competition that could have been for Ultrafractal.
But I'm sure UF would still have beat out FE.
I realize UF creates gorgeous, sumptuous work but only when you have mastered it.
I own the full version but just never had the free time or patience to learn to master it.
I started almost 5 years ago with FE since it was free and also doesn't have any limitations like free UF does.
Mr Hal Tenny also used FE for awhile and gave me tips that saved my bacon.
Before talking with him my FE work sucked!
I remember when we both were looking at the "newest" version of FE.
I believe you had troubles with it, and after using it for a little while I did too!

I have UF too, and have had the same experience. It requires more time than i have right now - perhaps when I retire lol.
