Just another Ryu picture, of course. Getting tired of drawing pictures with little action, so I decided to draw this. Just one of those cool-to-look-at kicks.Again, I tired something different colour wise, but it just ended up being a bit grey. Never mind, I shall carry on the onslaught against my old enemy: Colour.

there sure is alot of street fighter art out there, but I think this piece really stands out, just how solid the colours and shading is, and that sorta hybrid anime/realistic style, it looks like a sprite from the game made real :3 fantastic work

i love the way you have done his toes, its amazing, true to the form of the kick, the only thing is, i dont think he would drop his guard during said kick, aside from that, its a wonderful piece.

I kinda like the colors. Not like Ryu's the most colorful guy out there, so it fits the feel of it. Just another day of kicking for ol' Ryu. AWESOME work with the pose and, well, everything else too. (^_^)

I think the washed out color is successful here, especially in the reds. And of course you did much justice to Ryu

Yea nothin wrong with the colour, just gives it a historic feel, now what's this about your not using a tablet, but a mouse for drawing these things? I used to do that, and holy shit it was a pain in the ass.

I came back to leave a comment, 'cause I felt terribly bad knowing that such a good work didn't get any word from my side. s, first of all, the pose ye chose is extremely dynamic, which makes it also hard to draw (in my humble opinin, at least).

I really like the colors you chose, i think the grey along with ryu's expression really adds to the atmosphere.

Haha, Glad someone brought that up - Its not his tatsumakisempuukyaku, but it was inspired from the Street Fighter EX equivalent.
However the actual kick is based upon Street Fighter 3's jumping (non-directional, just up) hard kick. He does a fancy little twist with the kick.

Oh, I LOVE this one. Well done with the action and expression! I know how it feels knowing that you should do more actiony work. The colors are gorgeous. I adore how gritty they are. They suit Ryu perfectly. My only beef is with his left arm. It looks fine but it's a tad awkward at the angle you have it set at. It makes sense but it doesn't look natural and comfortable. Other than that I'd say this is a perfect image.

Hey, I think the lack of vivid colour is what makes this attractive, great work on the pose, and I knew who it was straight away, even looking at the thumbnail. Great memories, playing this game in the arcades when I was younger, though I preferred Chun-Li over anyone else... being a girl and all. On a technical note, I really love the way you colour, so chunky, its almost sculptural.
