In this ReWrite after the day with Pan : Goku is still feeling down about the whole incident, even going as far to feeling he let Gohan down, even when things were alright! Luckily it's the Weekend, so when Chi-Chi needs some big fish, Goku asks Goten if he wants to go fishing for Chi-Chi! Goten happily accepts, leaving Goku at least with a smile! Goku can't fish like he usually does, so he got a fishing rod, it's a good thing they're next to a lake that has some pretty good fish!
Goku's a little clumsy with the fishing rod but he gets the hang of it! While Goku and Goten wait patiently, Goten notices that Goku's feeling a bit down about something, Goten asks what's wrong and Goku just tells his son he's feeling a bit down is all! Goten asks is it because of what happened with Pan? Goku admits that Pan was part of it....but it's something else as well, something personal! Before Goku could get into details a strong bite caught on to the rob nearly pulling Goku in!
Goku is trying to keep his ground trying not to get pulled in, Goku being a little goofball acting like he's never used a fishing rob before, giving Goten a good laugh! They're certainly catchin' a big one today

Though this is really nice....Chi-Chi can't help but feel something is wrong with Goku! Concerned, Chi-Chi calls a family meeting to discuss Goku's issues and why is he feeling depressed? Goku would just feel really bad and admit that what he's been doing has really been selfish and he realizes that for a while now he's been thinking like a Saiyan, not a Human! I mean to be fair it's part of his blood! He doesn't know why he was caught up in all the fighting to the point he was a little obsessed! He recalled the time he spent with Gohan even in the darkest of times....and he wants to make things right! For Chi-Chi it's good Goku now wants to do better but.....this doesn't sit well with her!
She too begins to realize somethings about herself, I mean it's great Goku wants to try but....not if he's just gonna be depressed about it! She begins to realize that she's been so caught up in keeping the family together that she's forgotten about THEIR wants for themselves, perhaps it's okay to be a little selfish as long as it doesn't become an issue! Goku wants to be a martial artist, to be the best fighter and the best person he can be! She understands that when the world is put on the line, it matters because it threatens them too! Chi-Chi does some confessing herself : Saying that she's happy Goku is now trying to make things right, but it won't make her happy if Goku's not happy! Tells him about her own flaws and her own obsessions, but family is important as well! Their own desires and goals are what makes them who they are, so Chi-Chi and Goku work something out to help Goku balance his normal life and training so they can live happily together, so she can still have the martial artist she loved, the martial artist she married! This would make Goku happy and put a real smile on his face again, things are now starting anew
