Description My wife Kiki has cancer (Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma). She means the world to me. We don't need pity or apathy. We need hard cold cash. Funny thing, doctors don't seem to be interested in well wishing or prayers. If our reality disturbs your peace of mind, deal with it.

If someone you love is diagnosed with cancer, we hope you don't have to deal with the bullshi(r)t we have to deal with here n Malaysia. We didn't plan on having cancer. If we had, we would have chosen to have it in the United States, and much later in life. Inconvenient lil bugger.

If this has bummed you out, we're truly sorry.
Note: That was meant with extremely heavy sarcasm. With a side order of f**k you.

Anypoo, Kiki's college insurance has been used up. We've completed the second cycle, and we don't know - 'cause the doctors (here) don't know - how many more cycles we still have to endure. This shi(r)t is tedious, life-restricting, and pissing me the f**k off.

The chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation costs about $50,000 [USD], so we're moving back to the United States as soon as we can where we'll receive the best (advanced) treatment, and where foundations and medical organizations will cover all of our medical, travel and personal expenses while Kiki undergoes treatment.

We know this for a fact, 'cause we've been denied funding due to not residing in the U.S. *pfft* AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!

My VISA restricts me from working here, Kiki is a scholarship student, and no one wants to help us financially - even though it's something they're obligated to do, morally and/or due to their position in her life. Details to be revealed at a later date - Kiki's afraid I'll be deported if I "make too much (more) noise".

Sooooo she is supposed to be discharged from the hospital later today (May 14, 2014), and we'll need to raise more funds for further treatment within the next two weeks. She's not a cute child or an animal that needs an operation on its friggin' leg, so raising funds is proving to be quite an uphill task.

Note: If I have to have a memorial fundraiser for her, I can only imagine that you'll see me transform into a cold-hearted son-of-a-bitch. I hope this won't be the case, 'cause I've always been a very loving and caring person, but this is the greatest challenge I/we have ever had to deal with, and the indifference we've encountered doesn't leave me many more options.

Anywayzzzzz, here's her fundraiser link - fnd.us/c/0bex6

FYI: If you read her backstory, you'll see why I'm so irritated and "extreme". If you happen to witness (via webcam) your loved one - who's thousands of miles away - brutally attacked and almost killed, cancer is just one more thing that pushes you all the closer to the edge. And it makes you want to do whatever you can to protect them while you're physically capable of doing so.

Other than that, we're at the 'mercy' of the whole "kindness of strangers" scenario. "Whatever", right? Well, it's almost 4 AM, and I have to get up in a few hours, so thanks for reading my rant. Favor though? Go buy our art prints, donate whatever you can and/or help spread the word about our fundraiser.

If you don't/can't, we won't hate you or think "What a douche!" At least, we'll try not to.

JUST KIDDING!

L8R G8R, Kirk & Kiki

P.S. Our one-year anniversary is on May 21st! It's an impossible task to celebrate it in the U.S., BUT(T) we can hope, can't we?

Answer: Yes. Yes, we can.
