I was soooo glad I made the choice not to light it with a flash. It was quite a shallow alcove.

I love working with candle light, but It's hard to have a steady sharp image. You did pretty good here.

Thanks John. I think it was staying back that helped. Often the image looks blurred but it's only because you lose DOF so quickly on those low appartures.

I bought a cheap shit 50mm prime lens (no zoom at all - you want close, then walk).. but... it's F 1.8! It works in dead low light mate.

Dude... most of my shots are taken with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 Lens. It's not a cheap shit one, paid a fortune for it, but it's SOOOO worth it!

Yep.. those prime lens are leg zoom and I do love that 50mm lens. Everyone should at least least have this lens.

First thing after my birthday on the procurement list will be a 50mm lens... ^^
But amazing good work. Most astonishing is that her hair fuses with the darkness around her. Looks a bit like shadows that crawl down her shoulder.. ^^.

Just watch that you don't lose deapth of field with the low F values. I found you have to stay a fair way back.
