ARIES
It was merely a couple of days before the war was going to begin. And each passing day the leopon grew frustrated! She was still a cub so- she understood why she was left out of it. But...still! Aries really wanted to pitch in and help her friends/parents. Heaving a sigh she decided to leave camp and head over to the lake.
"I need a drink..." She huffed as she approached the lake. Technically, Blackwater was shared by Shadow and Fire so she wasn't in any real danger by straying that far from camp. Besides... Shadow, Fire, and lighting were working together in the raid right? Therefore, she didn't see any point in raising her guard at the moment.

SEBASTIAN
With the war looming over everyone and seeming as though it's approaching faster and faster with each passing day, things were beginning to get heated in Shadow Empire, although it must be like this in all the empires right now.
Sebastian was beginning to feel more alone now since his parents were busy preparing for the war and were leaving his siblings and himself with a babysitter more often. Sure he had more friends then he has ever had before and he still had his siblings, but he was somehow feeling distant from everyone. The sense of impending doom in the air wasn't helping him keep up his normally energetic, cheery attitude either; it was a good thing for everyone who would normally be agitated by his antics, but something just didn't feel comfortable about it to Sebastian, maybe he needed a break from the camp. Yeah that sounded good. Plus, he might be able to see some cats training in one of the neighbouring empires which seemed exciting!
He dragged himself out in a slightly lethargic manner towards Lake Blackwater to get some fresh air and maybe to have a bath in the shallow water. But what's that? There was someone already there! Sebastian squinted his eyes as he walked closer to the figure and soon found that he recognized the cat in question which seemed to perk up his mood a bit, "Hey Aries! It's be Sebastian!" He shouted, picking up speed into a fast jog as he headed towards her.

ARIES
—"Hey Aries! It's be Sebastian!"
Instantly the leopon raised her head. Her ears dilating as she shifted her gaze side to side. "Could that be—" Was she hearing things? Could of sworn a certain familiar voice hollered her name. Sev...ian??
Upon catching a glimpse of a running figure, Aries narrowed her eyes. Giving her head a slight tilt as the figure was getting larger and more focused. "S-Sebastian!" Her eyes widened with glee and without a second thought she raced off towards him. Her Medallion swaying and bouncing repeatedly against her chest fur. Once he was merely three feet away the hybrid reduced her speed and paced towards him.
"Wow, you got a little taller haven't you?" She mewed, unable to prevent herself from reminiscing their past experience. Aries hadn't admitted so far, but she was glad to have encounter him yet again. Though it was pretty easy to figure out with her facial display. None of that mattered to her though, she was just happy to come across her first friend. Safely.

SEBASTIAN
Sebastian came to a stop in front of her, "Heh, probably! It has been a few months since we last met so you've probably grown as well!" he said with a grin. Something bright and shiny blinded him for a second as the sun reflected off something Aries was wearing, "That looks new" he gestured to the charm around her neck, "certainly won't loose you if you're wearing that!" He chuckled, "So, how've you been? I mean... with the war and all, I hope everything's been okay in Fire."

ARIES
Aries mimicked Sebastian by standing in front of him as well. Analyzing his features to see how much he had changed in growth. The tiger leopard hybrid was definitely a little bit taller than her and, for a change, he didn't trample her this time! The leopon was gleeful of that. "Aha, so you've noticed." She heaved a purr "It's not much of a growth, but it's something...I suppose."
Her azure eyes then trailed down to her necklace. "Oh this? Yeah it's new." Aries retorted with a nod. Beaming another smile as Sebs was chuckling. Though, what followed right after caused her smile to fade slightly. "Umm... for the most part I'm all right. Though... i would be lying if I didn't admit I was worried for my family and friends. I think my mother is going to lead patrols of assassins too." The hybrid uttered softly. "I don't know much because i'm just a cub and I'm not allowed to take part in the raid so....yeah. What about you? Are your brothers and sister okay?"

SEBASTIAN
Sebastians ears pricked up a little at the mention of "assassins". Hmm... he's heard the name mentioned before but wasn't entirely sure as to what they did. All he knew is that around the time the name was beginning to pop up some members of Shadow Empire seemed to be disappearing, maybe that had something to do with these "assassins". Also that fact that his parents he overheard his parents talking about them being like specially trained gladiators made images of legions of soldiers appear in his mind which peaked his interest further. "Yeah, I've heard of assassins. I'm not sure what they do though, I don't think we're allowed to know. But I guess if your mother is leading them then she must be really busy, maybe even more so than any other leader?". Of course, Sebastian is oblivious to the other plots happening around the empire so as far as he was concerned, the only extra gladiators were those being trained by Aries' mum. "Oh... um... yeah Gabe, Silvia, and Raf are fine I think... But mum isn't the same, and neither is dad. See dad's going to fight in the war and I guess mum's worried for him." He paused and took a deep breath, "We all are." His gaze turned to the ground as he thought of his father, the strongest and bravest cat he knew. "He'll be fine. I'm sure of it" where the few words that rattled around his brain. He shook his head to get him out of his daze and lifted his head again to look at Aries, "Ah umm, yeah how's you're family? Are they okay?".

ARIES
"Yeah, I tried getting more information about these so called 'assassins' but- no one says anything about it. I guess it's because we're too young or something." She heaved a sigh "And, yeah, i think my mother is leading them since...lately she hasn't been around me or my siblings. Just with unfamiliar felines and elite gladiators...i think." Being busy was okay, she would of been able to find company with her siblings or friends- but, in knowing that her mother was doing something 'dangerous' made her stomach twist. Aries couldn't answer anymore than that though because, like Sebs, she didn't know the details.
"Thank goodness, I'm glad your siblings and parents are doing okay. Um...I'm sure once this whole war thing is over with- your mom won't have to be so worried anymore. And...hopefully nothing bad happens to our families. Especially your father." Aries knew her dad would take part in the war, surely next to her mother, so she wasn't too worried. Sebastian's dad on the other hand...well...Aries will pray extra hard that he makes it alive. That is all she could do after all...
"Oh m-my family? Ehrm...to be honest, I haven't seen my parents that much so...I have no idea how they're dealing with this war. Polaris and Antares aren't happy about it though and they wish they could help in some way. It's frustrating but they're okay for the most part." The hybrid then lightly tapped Sebastian shoulder. "But, hey, what's with you being the worry wart? I thought you would of tackled me by now or something." She faintly grinned, hoping to lighten up the atmosphere around them.

SEBASTIAN
"Thanks Aries", he muttered in a solemn tone, although he was now sporting a slight smile from Aries' reassuring words, "I hope your family stays safe as well". Sebastian leant forward and gave Aries a friendly head-butt and as he fell back his slightly glum expression had almost bounced back to his usual smiley self.
He rose to his feet and began to pad to the side of Aries, then behind her with a sly look on his face. "Well, we'll have to change that won't we?" He said. Not a few seconds later did Sebastian launch a friendly attack on Aries, jumping onto her back sending both cubs tumbling into the grass. He playfully wrestled with her while growling slightly, breaking off now and again to crouch in the ground and proceeding to leap at her again. Sebastian took a moment from pummelling the poor girl with playful bats, "Is this more like it?" he jested, chuckling slightly with a warm smile.

ARIES
"Anytime, Sebastian. May Sator watch over our families." After having to talk to her shadow companion, it felt as her worried demeanor was slowly vanishing. Especially after the sudden head-butt that came without warning...which was 'typical' of him to do.
Aries flicked her tail, smiling fondly and rubbing her front mane. "Heh, well that depends if you're up for it. Remember...I'm the daughter of Andromeda. One of the most fierce felines in Fire, don't think I-" Her words were suddenly cut short when she felt herself barreling into the grass with her buddy. Only to be playfully leaped on and repeatedly batted right after. "Okay...IT'S ON!" She retorted with a smirk, beaming at him with a fiery look. If anything, Aries loved engaging into training sessions or fights- so...she couldn't help but stir an excited expression. "I got ya now!" Aries meowed before playfully biting onto Sebastian's left ear.

SEBASTIAN
"wAHH GET OFF ME!" He growled playfully, as Aries now had him pinned to the grassy floor. He pushed against the slightly smaller cub with his paws so he was crushed under her full weight. Well... it would be more worrying if Sebastian was on Aries since he was... probably quite a lot more heavier than she was. Even if Sebastian was heavier than the female, it didn't mean he was stronger, not now at least!
He rolled over onto his side, hoping that Aries would do the same and allow him to get back onto his feet. As he did so he prepared himself to pin her to the floor in return. He wasn't as agile as she was so his plan to pin her down basically involved sitting on her... Shadow Empire sure did have a special kind of gladiator in the making.

ARIES
"Com ohn yu goda ee tuffer tan tat!" (Come on you gotta be tougher than that!) The feminine hybrid muffled as she continued yanking his ear playfully. Aries, like Sebs, has older siblings too- so she had her fill of 'playful fights' with them. This was no different!
Although, letting her arrogant trait get the best of her, she played right into his paws. Sebastian's ear slip from her maw and she felt herself roll onto her side as well. "AH I SLIPPED!" She gasped in her brain, before she knew it she felt the other's weight press her down. "H-hey! I'm not a cushion! YOU CAN'T JUST SIT ON ME." And this is Aries, last litter of Andro's and part of Fire Empire's future...being sat on by a Shadow Empire mate.

SEBASTIAN
As Sebastian sat triumphantly on the smaller cub an expression of pure accomplishment and pride was plastered across his face. He could feel her struggling but Seb wasn't planning on budging any time soon "If you don't want me to sit on you why don't you do something about it?!", he jested, giggling maniacally at the same time.
TL;DR --;; Before the raid the two cubs decided to meet at their meeting place, Blackwater Lake. Upon arriving there they had a deep conversation about their families and everything that was unfolding around them. (Like assassins and stuff) After a moment, Aries points out that this whole 'serious' talk isn't like Sebastian and she urges him to awaken his hyper side. His usual self. Eventually the two push each other's buttons enough to pounce on one another. Playing as the cubs they are.
Little did they know their prayers wasn't heard by the gods, since...later they end up losing a brother. And Sebastian's dad dies too |'D This was their last encounter though, and since it was ripple09 's birthday- i thought it would be extra special to do smth like this <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SENPAI !!
