Last year I rewatched the hunchback of notredame after a loooong time and got so emotional with Esmeralda's song :') You see... Frollo represents the church, but his vision of the word is so... corrupted that it doesn't even sound like christianism anymore, who was supposed to help and don't judge others, for instance. But Esmeralda, who could have some kind of grudge from the people that mistreat, that chases her own people, is the one who understands and asks for something actually meaningful:

"I ask for nothing that I can get by, but there are so many less lucky than I;
Please help my people, the poor and downtrod; I thought we all were the children of God"

And then just... a tear roll from your eyes and you think about having faith in humanity again xD GOD THIS MOVIE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AAAIUHFSDNFNJ <33
