Description
Before you MLP fans start getting all butt-hurt from this ONE LITTLE STAMP, I want to let you know a few things:1. I don't hate all MLP fans. Only the creepy ones that create all the porno pics.
2. I also dislike the MLP fans who get all defensive when someone insults their precious TV show.
3. Understand that as you are entitled to your own opinion, I'm also entitled to mine and that I have every right to dislike MLP as you have every right to like it.
4. Yes, I know that MLP is a teen's show, I actually watched an episode. I'm not saying the show's for babies.
5. I'm open-minded to all your opinions, as long as it's told in a civilized manner. Screaming your head off is only going to prove how 'childish' and 'immature' the fandom can actually get.
--
I'm so going to get hated on for this. But totally worth it!
This is only directed towards the annoying and uncivilized part of the fandom.
I used a base for the stamp: jetprowerthefox.deviantart.com…
--
EDIT: okay, please stop asking me,"Y U NO LIKE THE SHOW??" for one, it's all up there ^^ and two, i don't even dislike the show. actually, i think it's a pretty okay show and have watched the entire first season. so yeah. stahp.
EDIT 2: disabled comments, this is so old and people still wanted to argue about the stamp. i no longer go by the above "reasons". once again, i don't hate the show OR the fandom. so yeah. no more comments since people apparently don't know how to read.

"Only the creepy ones that create all the porno pics."
No offense, but that seems like a rather lame reason to hate the brony fandom considering every fandom has its r34 artists. That, and the people who draw such art only make up a small minority of the fandom, ergo it's not exactly fair to say the fandom at large ruined the show for you, now is it?
"I also dislike the MLP fans who get all defensive when someone insults their precious TV show."
Again, that's only the minority. And again, that behavior's found in every fandom; if I had a nickle for every asshole who thinks I'm the devil for not liking anime, I could probably buy a Wii-U.

Ah, the classic Internet cop-out: "I cannot refute anything you're saying, so to spare myself from looking like a fool, I use the 'why would you comment on something so old' argument!"
...Seriously, if you want to put an expiration date on deviation comments, why don't you disable comments for pieces that are past a certain age?

maybe because i don't keep track of shit that's like a year old??
sheesh, you'd think that i was promoting suicide or something, due to the kind of comments i'm getting.
plus, i kinda expect people to think to themselves,"hmm, this deviation sure is old, this person probably has different views..."
i guess i expect too much out of people.
also, i clearly state in the artist's comments section: and two, i don't even dislike the show. actually, i think it's a pretty okay show and have watched the entire first season"
idk if it was the fact that i had made a hateful stamp that pissed you off, but if you had read the artist's comments,
then you'd know that i don't even hate the show. i actually like it.

Or maybe it was me who expected too much out of a fellow deviant. I mean, here I am, answering any comments I still get on my old deviations like a complete jackass. I really need to get with the times!
...Or maybe I just practice common courtesy.
And please don't pull that "if you had read the artist's comments..." malarkey on me. I did read them, and I did see where you said you actually like the show. Does that make your original points any less worthy of being criticized? No. If you really do, as you say, "have different views" than you used to, then what's the point in keeping such misguided remarks in the description? Seems like you could avoid situations just like this one if you simply strike 'em out, you know.
Also, why so defensive in the first place? I thought I was being fairly neutral in my initial criticism, was I not? Did you really interpret that as me hating the stamp (which I don't, I only thought some of the points in your artist's comments needed to be debunked), or is the whole "people commenting on old stuff" thing really that big of an issue for you? Because if so, I'll just shut up and leave you alone. It's not the way I work as an artist, but I'll respect it nonetheless.

so you're telling me that you reply to comments on deviations that are literally almost 2 years old?
let alone comments that are from people who want to start fights with you? i mean, maybe if someone was like,"wow, you did a good job!"
i would be courteous and say,"oh, thanks man!" but i don't see the point in arguing with someone over stuff that even i don't agree with.
i don't mind having those points criticized, i couldn't care less if people think that they're stupid/wrong/etc. because i agree.
i was just pointing out that they no longer apply to me, and now... well, yeah. and the reason i kept them was because
maybe some people who agree with this stamp for whatever reason may want to know the reasoning behind why i made the stamp.
i wasn't trying to come off as defensive, to be honest. i re-read my previous comment, and i can see how someone would see it that way.
if it makes a difference, i typed it at around midnight. ahaha, i guess i was crabby or something. but seriously, i don't mind a little criticism.
so, sorry for coming off that way. plus, i've received a bunch of comments like that, and so it can get rather frustrating at times.
so i guess i should be the one to shut up now. ._.

Well, I certainly try to answer them as best I can. It doesn't really matter to me how old one of my pieces is, if someone has an honest question or concern about it, they deserve a response. To tell the truth, it's those kind of "good job!" comments that I'm least likely to respond to, since they're honestly not really all that helpful...
I don't know where you get the idea that I was trying to start a fight with you. I just felt the need to set the record straight regarding some of the (apparently outdated) statements you made in the description, but that doesn't mean I had any ill will towards you or the stamp itself. Personally, I think it's great that you've had a change of heart regarding the show since then. And who knows, maybe I should have known better than to assume every artist replies to old deviations the way I do.
If I initially came off as rude, I apologize; I'm beginning to think that something about the way I type makes some folks think I'm attacking them personally, because in the past I've gotten into a number of unintentional arguments just like this one. Sorry for any grief I might've caused.

My sisters made me watch it, and I thought it was boring. In fact, I haven't got a clue what popularized the show in the first place. I think it was that Bronies liking it would be their form of social rebellion (the show is extremely girly, which isn't considered normal for boys to like in our society, and guys love to rebel, so...) and then it spread like cholera over the rest of the 'Net.

Well, to be fair, the fandom has it's "underbelly" just like every fandom does. My argument is that, unless you go LOOKING for it with intention, chances are, finding it will be a rare occurrence. Personally, I don't agree with judging the topic by it's fandom- there are plenty of technical bronies who don't include themselves in the fandom for the reasons you stated. Just because a fandom has it's... creeps, doesn't mean the topic of the fandom itself is bad c:
Although, you have a right to your opinion, I just thought I'd drop in and leave mine considering you're one of the extremely few people who says they're open minded to others' opinions. c:

At the time, what I meant was I had watched an episode, but after watching it that was going to be the last one I would watch. Thus, the,"I would give MLP a chance". The chance being watching more than just a couple episodes, and enjoying it.
Hope I cleared up some stuff!

I wonder how much of the fandom is made up of these "annoying" bronies or "fantards" you speak of. Because to be honest haven't met any (okay I saw R34 thanks to Google, but I learned to ignore these things). And I don't think it's 99,99999% like all these fandom haters say.
Yeah it's a fact that there are rabid fans in this fanbase, but omg every fanbase has them. Why we have to put them under the spotlight?

3D-BITES In reply to The-Syreth-Clan [2012-03-29 19:39:25 +0000 UTC]
In all honesty, a lot of the fandom is made up of what we call "sane bronies". I'm actually one of them, so I know what I'm talking about. And trust me, these "fantards",
as what lots of people like to call them, are everywhere. You just gotta look, sometimes, but not often.
And it's true, it's just easier to ignore them. And by now, my view on these bronies has definitely changed since the time I made this stamp. And you're mostly right,
most of the fanbase is made up of some pretty sane people.
And you're also right in the fact that every fandom has that crazy side to it. Trust me, I know, especially with Homestuck. -sighs- And, well, I guess it's mostly instinct to just point
fingers at the "crazies". I don't really know, to be honest.

You know the clincher?
*purpletinker is the runner of Bronycon, she manages the entire thing. When people pointed out to her that Slugbox was trying to smuggle porn into Bronycon, her response?
"You're all a bunch of PRUDES." I guess having pony porn infront of 9 year old girls is fine. (Purple Tinker apologized after saying she was "tired" that day or some bullshit, I didn't believe her. She was only responding so people would leave her alone.)
I refuse to give any money to Bronycon and am hoping another person (eventually) steps up and provides a different atmosphere. I want a con where parents can bring their children with no threat from people like Slugbox.

Really funny that she does care of the whole event (status boosting?) yet doesnt care what people will think of the fandom (aside the mentally nutcases and the overzealous waifus protectors and the Slugbox's wannabees(<---Leeches)).
I guess the meaning "a few spoiled ruin the bunch" never occured to her.
Still, if she wants respect, she should consider that Kids, no matter what money shot people might offer her (and i mean the wrong kind) that kids go first.
The Slugpeople however, let them get hit by a car.
Really, making profit out of a show rather then making a profit out of an idea based off a show is still toewrenchingly annoying how easy money can be made.
Still, with idiots giving or willingly to pay to "realize" their fantasies, the taste might influence the morale poor.
And still thinking how that guy wanted to smuggle it into a public event...
Just sad....but hey, you cant buy a reputation with money after they all see what kind of true worm you are hey?
