In episode 1 I think they are teens. I like too think RD is 16 as that is the youngest one can leave home where I live and she'd want too get away from her folks!

Twi comes off as the same age with AJ and Rarity a few years older and the rest in-between. The CMC come off as gap kids (well Bloom and Sweetie) with them at the start being 8 or 9 for Bloom and 7 or 8 for the other two... I think of Bloom as being a year older then the other two.
