Their relationship's canon, but it's not a "Yuri anime" as in it's not focused on it or anything. Which honestly is kinda cool.
[SPOILER] In fact I'm pretty sure one of them confesses or they get together or whatnot in the last episode, so if you're more interested in the destination than the journey it's probably not enough of a payoff in that regard

Reina does confess her love to Kumiko and then after a few episodes confesses that she is in love with her teacher in one of the most stupid heterofyings ever! What's worse, near the end of the series, Kumiko also confesses her love to Reina, but from what I hear, in the novels she also falls in love with her childhood friend that was in love with her; Sooo, there you get it.

Right, but as far as the anime's concerned it's canon I believe (After the second confession). I dunno, I've never seen the whole series, but someone showed me that scene and they seemed pretty into each other haha.

This is exactly it! They ARE truly into each other and each confession is true, but the story contradict its character in a very stupid way and tries to deny it. I seriously cannot understand the logic behind it myself.
