I love the way this is done. It;s true too, some freedom of speech makes (me) nervous. Cause if you think about it, back in the 60's they burned flags as freedom of speech, and things got out of hand. Words are dangerous, and so are the actions that follow. And I love how the words stand out from the flag. Awesome

This is the one I personally like better... easier to read and more " civilized", so to speak. I totally agree that one person's right to freedom of speech ends where they infringe on another person's rights as an American citizen. And yes, we all have the right to choose what we wanna say and what we wanna hear other people say. Mainly, I like this picture b/c of the meaning behind it and the thoughts it provokes people to think about our simple freedoms as such. Nice work.

I agree with the statement... Some freedom of speech makes me nervous, also. However, I believe everyone has a right to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't interfere with another person living their lives. I may think hate groups are ignorant and awful, but I'll defend their right to say whatever they want to say. When they cross the line and actually start harming people, that's where I interject. Everything up to that point, however, I believe everyone has a right to, just like everyone has the right to counter the statements or just plain ignore them.

Can words not be more harmful then physical actions? I believe they can, especially with hate speech. For the life of me, I cannot understand how anyone can build up that much hatred. But, then that is probably why I feel like I do.
Thank you for the comment and for bringing up valid points.

Words can hurt horribly and, perhaps, hurt much longer then physical pain. In fact, verbal abuse is something that shouldn't be allowed. Abuse is abuse is abuse. However, when it comes to expressing a belief or political statement, I feel everyone has a right to express it, regardless of whether or not it offends. When it gets to the point where someone is trying to impose his/her speech on others... That speech no longer is about the speaker. Imposing on others is a direct violation of their rights to live freely as they wish.
Perhaps I'm just too idealistic...

"However, when it comes to expressing a belief or political statement, I feel everyone has a right to express it, regardless of whether or not it offends." That is true, as long as one is not forced like you stated. I do think that forcing a belief on someone is a violation of their rights as well. But, if its not forced upon you, you can simply walk away or not listen. That choice is left to you. And no, I dont think that your too idealistic, but I do feel that we might be asking for to much. For someone that has their ways set it is no simple task to change or to see something differently (< --reference to the pasting down of beliefs).

Hey, I like this one the best, as I told you before. Love the message, and the debate that could be fueled over it. Love the way the word, nervous, looks. Very kool. And your welcome, ask me for advice anytime.

well i have two takes on this. i believe full heartedly in freedom of speech...i'm 100% against censorship of any sort... but then again...when it comes to freedom of speech in the media.... i start getting rather shaky, heh.
when it comes to spreading your "word" worldwide or nationally... i believe certain groups really don't deserve their freedom of speech, because the world is an overly sensitive place full of overly sensitive, moronic people that can group together and build nukes... so yeah...
i get nervous too
