wow really awesome! you really did capture the feeling of abandoned/forgoten civilastion very well! I also like thhe composition! Those arcs leading the eye to the huge castle/tower building! very well done!
I aslo like these limited color paletes that u use! I will have to try that myself! My colors are always all over the place which isn't very good!

Yeah I started with the arches, I thought it looked really cool with the contrasting sun in the back... had a blast with the rocks coming out of the fog, gives it a alien feel.
I think thats probably the painting I've put in the most ''technical know how'' but it was done intuitively so it came out kinda cool!
Here's what I started doing for limited palette and having colors that match to start with: start by putting in a gradient with 2 different hues for your light and shadows and VOILA! just colour pick from that and build on top!!
Thanks a lot for your input Yan... I'll vote for you for the next Deviant of the month!! But seriously, you're awesome!

Yeah really does look very cool! I really like this one, it has this Dune feel to it..
Yeah I'll definitely try the gradinet approach of yours! Currently I pick colors from someone elses pictures that I like and try to mix those that are not there.. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Lots of work ahead of me still!
Thanks man, I appreciate it! And thanks for the tips!

What? you feel like using reference is cheating yet you use other people's colors?!! for shame!!! lol hahah . I do that with pictures sometimes but I try to guess without color picker to train my eye

yeah exactly!
I actually feel like cheating taking colors as well, but slightly less so...
