Dear lord, Ash, age is the least of the problems you have...I'd start thinking of things more important. like keeping friends and a love-life instead of treating them like bottles on a shelf, finding an extra Pokemon companion that can bond just as close to you as your Pikachu has, like a Riolu. oh and one more thing...YOU'RE NOT GONNA BE A MASTER OR CHAMPION OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! That's hell correct.. The show aired almost 4 years before I was even Born. He was 10 at that time.. And now I am nearly 17 and he still is a 10 year old..😶 Come on ASH , grow up a bit..

I would have been around 8 maybe closer to 9 at the time it was first airing in English. It was a completely different world and a different tone back then. The early episodes were something special I'll tell you that. I mean maybe some of it had to do with being a little kid at the time but it still feels completely different than it did later on.

I agree with you. Pokemon is a totally different concept. And as far as know, by the time it was first aired, nothing like this have been seen. So it was a totally new experience for kids.
And I know, the original series (upto Jhoto) is the best. I liked the other series, but they weren't as cool as the original. In India, the original series is still aired, I don't know if they some kind of obsession or something.
They restart the series every other damn month. So, yeah, I know how cool the original series is.
