Description
The circle of notes,Fourteen to play,
Two for time,
Three for structure.
Is the leader
The highest,
The lowest,
Or the time keepers?
How much time to add
When here's that rainy day again?
Should the leaders
Make the red clay dirty?
To consider,
Combo,
Yet full.
Keep the slides natural,
No grace notes.
And here's Curfman again,
On that cold winter's night,
When the band is playing.
"Watch your key!"
"Listen to the trombones!"
"Make that note short!"
"Louder here, saxes!"
"Don't overpower the soloist!"
"Let go earlier trumpets!"
But now it's raining,
And all that red colored clay,
Washes away to the thieves' temple,
As I sit and write blues for Elise.
