Description I've seen the days,
But I don't know what they mean.
They came once.
They're different this time.
Sometimes they grab hold,
And pull me forward.
Other times,
Everything stands still.
I've seen both come and go.
I don't know where they're headed.
I've asked a million times,
But no response comes.
Only the days come.
They walk me in circles.
Circles of questions,
But with no answers.
When I look at the days,
I see something polar,
I see the north and the south,
I see hot and cold,
I see beginnings and endings,
It's all entwined.
Nothing is as it seems.
How many days have gone by,
Wasted,
Broken,
Or trapped?
I wanted joy,
The only thing they could offer.
But instead I got more days.
More days of questions,
Of waiting,
And of nothing.
The days are my enemy.
They fight me constantly.
They won't let up.
I can win,
Of course I can.
It'll just take more days,
Days I don't have.
That's why you're all here.
Strength in numbers,
Is all we have.
We'll fight to the death,
Till the end of our days,
And then we'll be done.
If we fail,
We can find a new life.
If we succeed,
We'll do it again.
We'll do it together,
From the start to the finish.
It's only time we're fighting,
Nothing more and nothing less.
It's a stall game.
Hold out until someone loses,
Until they draw their last card.
Then we'll know who lost,
Who couldn't survive the days,
Who was lost in the river of time.
It won't be me,
That's for sure.
And it can't be you,
I won't let it happen.
We all need to fight,
To the bitter end.
Then when the days are numbered,
We'll be sure to win.
