I would've actually thought about a Monkey Island reference...

It's a bit far fetched, but the whole Governess poster things hanging around... even if they are pro-governess posters, there are some hanging around on Melee Island(tm) in the first Monkey Island... (is it Secret of Monkey Island? I don't remember ^^)

Ffff. I think I like drawing her more w/ the corkscrew hair out, even though it deviates from the sprocket/gear motif that the bonnet has shape-wise. XD

Honestly, I really wanted the first eight or so chapters of this comic to just be a series of cute, silly misadventures ...but the way I work and the way I think, that just never materialized. D:

Sometimes that risk-taking is the only way to succeed. :>

But in my case I'm just talking about obvious pitfalls like leaving my camera/laptop unguarded precariously on a ledge (when I could easily shift it 6 inches over) or thinking about running upstairs carrying a piping hot beverage and all my notebooks in the other arm. That's when I have to stop and go "UH WHY."
